Rogue One is a band of brothers type movie. A war movie. You will see a lot about the structure of the rebels military. But I doubt you'll get anything post Jedi info.

I am not saying that they will have extensive flashbacks or actual set pieces picking up right after Episode III, but I bet dollars to donuts that it will be touched upon here and there. Just as how the Clone wars were brought up and slightly referenced a couple of times in the original Star Wars.

She is quite amazing. Her 30 Rock episode will always be one of my favorites. Plus there's When Harry Met Sally. Comic gold.

yeah so, weird question, but her voice has obviously altered over the years to where her delivery is much slower, and I have noticed this a lot with some of my relatives after they hit 50, what exactly is the cause of that? Being drunk all of the time?

The Princess Leia voice is not her natural sound, she's much softer than that. I'm sure she's slowed down a bit in her older, drunken days but I don't think she's that far off from how she always was.

http://superheronews.com/star-wars-the-force-awakens-international-trailer-2/

This movie in IMAX 3D may make me jump out of my seat in these combat scenes.

Isaac was saying that they had him in a cockpit gimbal outside going through very steep angles. Normally it would have been done in a green screen. This allows all the natural light, background, shadows etc to be real and him at extreme angles has him reacting with realistic forces as hes acting.

Why must I get hopes so high!

Wondering what that contraption was that the stormtrooper had. It could deflect a lightsaber.

Although there is apparently an embargo on TFA until Wed, a spoiler-free review from a credible source appeared online and gave the film fairly high praise. Of note were the special effects, cinematography and the score. He gave very high acting praises to Boyega and Harrison Ford, while also stating that Ridley did not shine as much compared to the rest of the cast, but was still good.

Take it for what its worth, but any critic that is able to see a film like this at a private screening has got to have some clout. So, it looks like we are in for the sequels to the Star Wars franchise that we have been waiting for.

[Edited on December 12, 2015 at 11:36 AM. Reason : I have lost the link, it probably was taking down by Disney due to the Embargo]

^^^At 1:42 you can see Kylo Ren from behind without his hood. Definitely is not Luke. Are the folks posting all over the internet that it is just trolling or do they believe it?

Hmm

The New Orders planet looks to be a snow covered planet. Which actually makes storm trooper armor effective camouflage.

Depending on how large the new order is I wonder if they derive all there troops from this planet.

Just rewatched ROTJ.

Even when I saw it in college I didn't realize how campy it was. Wow empire Strikes back is so much better.

At least the things you see from the new movie seem far removed from said campiness and shall be awesome.

Only negative review i've seen is from the DailyBeast:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/12/16/star-wars-the-force-awakens-plenty-of-girl-power-and-plenty-of-d-j-vu.html

I did't read it because im scared of spoilers, but headline is that it "fizzles".

its gonna get terrible reviews from the general public. This movie has been hyped up more than anything in recent memory. No way in shit will it live up to the hype except for hipsters that want to love it because...well because they're hipsters

meh, maybe i'm wrong...but i'll prolly be more right than wrong. its usually how things end up that get hyped out of their minds. People will like it because "star wars" but it won't meet mosts expectations or hopes.

I think you're having a hard time separating the all encompassing marketing blitz from the reality that is this iteration of Star Wars.

The reviews will be great, and I'd wager most fans will love it, for a number of reasons, primary among them being a return to the non-prequel world.

Terrible reviews? Naw man.

[Edited on December 17, 2015 at 9:47 AM. Reason : and this shit is wayyyyyyy bigger than hipsters. you're just wrong on all counts.]

I'm expecting the opposite. The general masses will love it because Star Wars and the hipster nerds will try to find a reason to hate it because assholes.

just saw it. I was super excited, had goosebumps during the opening crawl etc. I enjoyed it but it wasn't 98% on rotten tomatoes good imo. im assuming anyone who reads this thread at this point before watching the movie is just asking to receive spoilers anyway so:

On one hand it did feel like a complete rehash of IV which was a bit of a let down. I also kind of thought the pacing was a little rushed...until I realized that IV is pretty much the same pacing so I guess I can't complain about that too much. I thought Adam Driver was a good choice for Kylo Ren, but I felt like his character came off a little weak (like not as powerful as I expected) when it came to those lightsaber battles with complete noobs. Curious to see what others thought. Is it just because he is supposed to be young?

**SEMI-SPOILER WARNING**

Maybe that was the training that was incomplete at the end? Although I doubt it.

Either way, I would say it was really good. Maybe even 98% good. I just watched the original six again this week so they are still fresh. Compared to some of the scores they got, I think it warrants that score.
