if something starts out very wide, and is now less wide, that is narrowing the gap

Theres only two more of those states left. I hate that these hillary democrats are being quasi racist and dividing voters by race but if I join, african americans only make up like 12% of the country and don't have particularly high voter turnout. Someone outside of the trump supporters needs to call out this racial dividing being done. Its basically Hillary supporters trying to force blacks to vote for her by constantly repeating this narrative. The establishment democrats in the south happen to be black and happen to share a lot of the same special interest monies as hillary. They are in this together so of course she can get them to tell their constituents to vote for her. Southerners overwhelmingly are voting for hillary. People over the age of 65 are overwhelmingly voting for hillary. Just because most black voters happen to be in the south and over 65 doesn't mean you should divide your narrative by race. It may have made sense when you had a black candidate but thats not the case here. Theres no reason to do it other than building a divisive false narrative.

Shoving the narrative down our throats actually leads to more people voting for hillary. Just like the other false narrative of Bernie being "unelectable" despite polls showing he is more electable. Bernie is doing far better than any of the other republicans yet the media is painting a picture that this race is over while the republicans are in a horse race.

I recognize he won't catch her if they split everything thats left but that buys another 2 months for her to implode in scandal. This is going to the convention.

If he went from 1%-2% (not real numbers so don't get your panties in a wad) then yeah technically he closed the gap a bit but the difference is it doesn't matter because it isn't anywhere close to being material. His closing of the gap had been utterly insignificant.

Bernie has an uphill battle, but he still has a chance. At worst, he can draw fire from Hillary until she has to face Trump.

because what we all really want is for the democrats to not be able to solidify behind one person and instead deal with infighting that pushes the party frther away from the moderates and undecideds and more towards the left

bernie had his cute little run, but for the good of the party, he needs to get the fuck out.

after all, this is only his party when it's convenient to him.

^^ actually, YOU don't get it. Trump is going to win the nomination and he will be tough to defeat. Sanders supporters need to get it over it and accept the reality that a Clinton presidency will be nowhere near as disastrous as a Trump one. Americans aren't ready for socialism yet. I get it- Hillary is a scumbag in a lot of ways and she's pretty easy to dislike. But given the choice between Trump or Hillary? Come on...

If it comes down to Trump and Clinton, I will not vote for that race (I'll still show for the down ticket races)

While I disagree with some things Bernie says, I support him and still think he has a shot, albeit extremely small. I refuse to support Clinton because of her extreme lack of integrity as well as this whole email thing.

She literally instructed her staff to remove classification headings/markers to send stuff via an unsecured line. She talks in her emails about HUMINT sources and other ISR methods as well as movement of officials. These things are classified at birth, she should have known better. If I had done just a fraction of what she had done, I would have lost clearance and seen the inside of a federal jail.

I'll vote third party. I don't really care if Trump beats Clinton. If Clinton wins it's 8 more years of conservatism. If Trump wins it's a kick in the ass for true liberals to vote next time.

I really can't wait to see who he chooses as his running mate.

I think bitter Sanders supporters are a niche group. I have faith that Latinos, blacks, and old people will come out in droves to support Hillary to stop Trump from winning. But then again, that's just magical thinking- the exact type that so many Sanders supporters subscribe too. We are doomed

If you think this country is in rough shape now (it isn't- we are wayyyyy better off than in 2008), I've got some bad news for you. 2016 and onward with a lunatic like Trump and GOP filled houses is going to be your worst nightmare.

^^ every state that actually matters. Who gives a shit if he wins NE, KS, WY, and OR. Nobody lives there. He has zero shot at states with lots of delegates like CA, NY, FL, OH, etc. Believe all you want, but it's pretty much over at this point. If he ends up winning, it won't have much to do with his campaign strategy (nobody except working class whites and young people are voting for him)- it'll be because something crazy happens like Hillary getting indicted.

it would probably take something to shake things up, but considering the 4 ongoing investigations that is still entirely possible

at some point the media, or maybe even the DOJ, is going to make Clinton answer for things like:

and if something like that happens early enough it could cause some big changes

fivethirtyeight is pretty legit and I'd say Vox was super Pro-Bernie up until few weeks ago. I mean you can keep hoping and wishing all you want, but the results are speaking for themselves. Back when Sanders first started making noise last year, I liked what I heard, but deep down I knew he had no real chance of beating Hillary. He just doesn't appeal to voters of color like Obama did, and that's been proven repeatedly over the past few weeks, and will likely prove true until people finally face the music.

Well if we're going by 538, Hillary's target is dropping. Bernie's is the same as it was at Iowa, and likely to start rising soon.

I think you're misunderstanding that. Hillary did better than she needed to yesterday. Bernie did worse.

She got 596 when she only needed 529. Bernie got 399 when he needed 492.

This isn't even taking superdelgates into count either. Clinton has plenty of those.

No, she's at 596 cumulative. 113% of target.

And seriously with the superdelegates argument? Now you're definitely full of shit. They have never gone against the constituency.

^^Close, but not quite. Sanders has said he's not going to run third party if he loses, so whatever third party candidates are out there won't really steal a ton of votes either way. If he did run as a third party, it would be a totally different matter.

Trump is going to win enough delegates to win the nomination, but if Cruz or Rubio were to run against him or some other popular GOP figure, that WILL take votes away from him- without question.

^ you are vastly underestimating the Democratic political machine.

I'm painfully aware of the Democratic machine, which is why I'm all in for Sanders.

Speaking of giving Trump the election, have you considered that a vote for Clinton in the primary might be a vote for Trump in the general? Judging by recent polls and many Bernie supports saying they won't vote for her.

If you're so aware, why is it so hard to accept that he's so unlikely to win? I mean that's pretty much why I could never really see him standing a chance and haven't allowed myself to get caught up in the Bernie hysteria.

And I've heard that argument before and addressed it. I see Clinton as more electable overall than Sanders. Aside from millennials, most Americans aren't ready for Socialism. When push comes to shove, I think Clinton stands are better chance to beat Trump than Sanders. I put my faith in the diversity of this country, which is what pretty much guaranteed Obama victories the last two election cycles.

Because the unlikelihood pushed by media and pollsters is inconsistent and steadily moving in Sanders' direction. Clinton won Super Tuesday, as expected, but her favorability dropped to an all time low, and continues to drop. Meanwhile, the more Sanders gets the word out, the more people are favorable toward him.

I'll support him until he drops out, even if/when he's not viable, because I believe in the message. But I'll also admit when I think he's lost for sure, which hasn't happened yet.

Part of me (a small part) kinda wants trump to win just so people like ujustwait (and there are millions of them) get what they deserve. You are ruining democracy by saying what can't happen and not voting what they believe in. Anything can happen because people are free to vote however they see fit. A lot of people don't vote because of people like you.

Why not vote fro Stein? What is it about Bernie's platform that you don't see in stein's platform? Stein's is better in my opinion but the differences are not large enough to keep me from voting for bernie.

Hillary's "platform" is fine but I would never vote for her. In my opinion, anyone who doesn't care enough that they are willing to vote for hillary DESERVES to live through a trump presidency. Maybe, if bernie can't win, going through trump is the best way to wake the country up to accepting democracy instead of letting money tell them who to vote for.

wat? People can vote whoever they want. I'm just calling it like I see it. I am certainly not a huge fan of Clinton and I am pissed we are stuck with a bunch of shitty candidates. It's honestly depressing as fuck that this was the best America could do. With that said, I don't see Sanders turning it around and winning the nomination. It's based in reality and facts, not just my own beliefs. Will I vote for Clinton over Trump? Absofuckinlutely.

Clinton is only winning big with the black vote in states she's also winning big in the white vote. Massachusetts, which she barely won, the gap between them from black voters was much much narrower. Same thing in Iowa, and Bernie won the non-white vote in both New Hampshire and Vermont (much smaller sample size obviously, but it still shows that minorities aren't voting as a national block).

I'm having trouble finding numbers for Colorado and Minnesota, hopefully those will appear soon.

The only reason the Hillary camp and media empire are touting ownership of the black vote is because they want African-Americans in other states to think they are supposed to vote for her. I hope they're smarter than that, to let themselves be clumped into one group together when each minority group is much more diverse within itself.
