There are batshit people in every profession. I would start with getting them out of airplane cockpits and police cruisers first.

Need more details to make a call on the situation with the teacher. Teachers are underpaid and have a shitload of student debt, many smoke pot....we get what we prioritize for as a society and right now we are getting way more than we pay for considering the work environment for our teachers.
