I feel like i am pretty well off and privileged in many ways but have "problems" that i understand are not actually problems but they bother me and consume my world. i feel like i don't have anyone to talk to about these so called problems since they are not real problems and am afraid it would just make the other person feel like shit.

-theres a group of people who live my lifestyle but have a family or work life that prevents them from enjoying the things i enjoy. they make great friends but aren't so fun

-theres another group of people who enjoy the things i enjoy but don't have the funds to life my lifestyle. they make great friends but have limitations

-then theres people who are at the intersection of those two groups and they are all total assholes who only deal in 1-sided friendships (i wonder if that makes me one of these assholes?)

therefore no quality friend to relate with about problems

There must be people on here like this? Its must be a huge phenomenon amongst people 25-40 who are still single.

true happiness comes from the inside, friends/things are just window dressings.

Yeah, if you aren't married and you're in that demo it's very difficult.

Most of my college friends are married off, have a kid or 2, and can't really do things anymore. I can come over and we'll do dinner and some wine or something and that's fine, but there's no chance that any of them will ever be able to do a Vegas trip for the Superbowl or March Madness. Shit, the fact that we were able to get the whole league together for a fantasy draft a couple of years ago was an act of god, and even then some of them got texts during the middle of it.

If you try to make friends with younger people, say at work, many of them don't have the cash to do fun stuff or have similar interests.

It's definitely a first world, upper middle class problem.
