Dude doesnt play d for crap. He literally left his man wide open to go scrape at the ball on another player who was already being guarded. His man hit the wide open 3 seconds later. He just gives up on defense as well...so many times already ive seen him just kinda standing around. Though you could say that about the entire team...whole group of ball watchers

Game seems like it's slowing down to Smith. He's not forcing things as much, and he's figuring out nobody can stop him when he gets going downhill to the basket.

The defensive problems isn't a lack of effort on Smith's part -- or really anyone's part. It's lack of communication. Teams are killing us on the pick and roll because our help defense is bad right. Guys don't know what the hell they're doing. Luckily we can fix that (somewhat).

I agree with the others. At this point in his career to make those types of mistakes? A bit ridiculous if you ask me. I mean, an incoming freshman only having played a game I expect those types of mistakes, but not from a guy who has been around as long as he has 6-7 games into his career.

^^^i know what youre thinking, but it wasnt a trap or a double team. It was a really dumb chance he took. But hes shown a tendency to do that on defense so far. Hes not terry henderson bad at defense, but hes not far off.

Agreed. My defensive expectations of a freshman who has played 6-7 games are a world's away from those of a freshman who has only played one game. YOUGE experience gap there.
