Eff it all. Of course it's literally the only time slot on Thursday/Friday that overlaps my daughter's soccer practice.

Get it to Yurt7 inside and let him score at will, let Al drive and get FTs and contain Rodriguez. That's the simple explanation of how to win.

Don't feel good about this one. BC exposed how bad we struggle with big guards who can drive, even if Seton Hall's may not be as quick as Robinson and Bowman

They live off points inside the arc. I doubt they get those against us.

They don't shoot threes at all. That's our main weakness defensively.

Defensively they are horrid.

They are hopelessly tall and have zero depth.

I like NC State vs the spread. This has all the makings of a 30+ point game that might only be a 15 point spread.

for those that can't watch live, I had planned to get a free trial of youtube tv and use their dvr function to record to watch later.

However my work trip was cancelled due to snow so now I am free to watch the game!

From the 20 minutes I've seen Seton Hall play all year (and the 10 minutes I've spent researched them), there are some good and bad things abotu the matchup.

GOOD - They don't have a true PG and struggle with TOs. Their own fans say their team has a low bball IQ and struggle with pressure. This could play right into our hands.

BAD - They're good, not great, on the offensive boards (led Big East is 2nd chance points). I'm not sure how much of a negative this really is though. For whatever reason, when we KNOW a team is dominant on the offensive glass, we seem to box-out and rebound much better as a whole. (Duke comes to mind; and UNC in the first game)

WORTH MENTIONING -- They are way more experienced than us. They have 4-5 seniors who helped redefine Seton Hall bball. They'll obviously want to end their college careers on a high note. This might or might not be a good thing. They'll play balls out, no doubt, but it might force them to press things a little too much.

SUMMARY - Assuming we stay sound fundamentally, I have a pretty good feeling about this one.

seems like we could turn seton hall over with some success...statistically they aren't great at taking care of the ball. they turn it over on 17.5% of possessions....that's 141 nationally.

^That's the beautiful thing, it doesn't really matter if we lose. No one expected us to make the tournament before the season started, so we've been playing with "house money" for weeks now.

based on youtube scouting, their guards arent much of a threat. theyre more andre millers than the guys that kill us

delgado is probably the guy we need to worry about. that and the donk off the bench who plays 8 minutes per game but will score double digits

Adidas using all that money for legal fees instead.

I don't think they will be able to out rebound Yurt7 with a 6'10" guy. If Yurt7 can stay out of foul trouble and stretch his guy out to the 3, we should eat them up with dribble penetration with Al and Dorn.

All depends on how this game gets officiated. Rodrigez will be the main one to shut down.

I watched about 5 of their games and they are very bipolar, some games they look stout, other games they look more lost than helen keller in a corn maze.

they shouldn't be able to...but teams have done it against us this year several times it seems.

Yurt can't do it all. We're at a natural disadvantage on the boards only having one big out there most of the time.

[Edited on March 13, 2018 at 1:31 PM. Reason : He only averages 7 per game and has double digit rebounds just a handful of games]

I'm starting to think after watching Seton Halls last few games, that Markell will have double digit assists on pick and roll...Seton Hall is a little slow in terms of their guards and their big man is undersized.

If the January NCSU team shows up, Seton Hall and Kansas will fall.

I'm just excited to have non-ACC refs calling this game - feel like we'll at least get a fairer shot in that regard. Just depends on which NC State team shows up but I think we match up well with Seton Hall and Kansas. I think we'd also have a good shot at Clemson/NMSt/Auburn.

^Yeah, I think foul trouble stemming from bullshit calls contributed more to our recent losses than non-State fans want to admit.

Yeah NCAAT is usually officiated more loosely than regular season. And we don’t need foul trouble, that has killed us at times...forcing us to use weird lineup combinations.

And to piggyback off what ^^ said...I know people tout this as the toughest region. But (and this is a huge but, I’m obviously getting ahead of myself but fuck it)...people have said Kansas isn’t as strong as past KU teams, Clemson is a week 5 seed imo, they don’t scare me at all, Auburn doesn’t scare me either. We already beat duke. I’m not predicting we go on a big run or anything...And I do think there are 3 title contender teams in our bracket. But relatively speaking, for a 9 seed our path to the elite 8 isn’t *that* bad.

^Agreed. UVA is the only 1 seed I don't think we could beat. I was kind of hoping for Villanova, I think they're the weakest of the four.

Not inconceivable that we'd beat Kansas in a close game, but it's just as likely we'll get blown out vs Seton Hall. So we'll see.
