So who should I as a State fan be rooting for this weekend, both nationally and in the ACC?

In the ACC it doesn’t really matter. We need to beat Clemson. Nationally...I guess root against WV and ND. Any undefeated, really. But those 2 seem the least likely to make the CFP with a loss. 1 loss SEC champ Bama is still getting in. Probably the same for Ohio State unless there are like 4 undefeated P5 teams.

Mainly though (and yes it’s a pipe dream but embrace it) we just need to win our games. Because most likely there won’t be 5 undefeated P5 teams where we would get left out.

Yep. Just win bay-bee.

I'm cheering for BC, GT (over Duke), Pitt and Miami. I am indifferent on the VT-UNC game. I want VT to lose but I'm not going to root for UNC, even if they need a few more wins to keep fedora.

It would be nice if some of these 1 loss and unbeaten teams in front of us lose.

Sucks that Pitt couldn’t pull off the upset.

Next week, either Clemson or NC State will be removed from the list. No tie result is allowed, right?

I was only half paying attention...so did the refs just award a combo 45 yard penalty against LSU? I didn't think that was possible. 15 yard targeting penalty, plus two simultaneous 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in the same play.

Thank you, THE Purdue University, for softening the blow of the Wolfpack loss. Also, props to Kirk Herbstreit for being unbiased as his alma mater gets whooped.

I mean...they’re getting rid of him which is the end result that matters. Buying out his contract avoids any kinda potential lawsuit from Durkin.

Yep it’s a cya for the university. They don’t want the potential liability exposure that firing him would have brought from the family, because firing him admits that there was cause in the first place.

It seems like the president of the university is the only one there who has half a backbone.

That whole board of regents needs to get fired for recommending they retain Durkin and pressuring Loh into reinstating him. They're all terrible human beings.

UNC may have walked away with the Coastal if they hadn’t epically collapsed so many times in the final minutes , lol. Instead they’re the only team out of six who can’t win it.

Wake's starting QB out for the season per 247

Quote :
"All of the sudden the injury-ravaged Deacs are now facing adversity at yet another position. Redshirt junior Kendall Hinton, who finished spring camp as the presumed starter, was suspended for the first three games of the season and has missed the last three games with various injuries. Redshirt sophomore Jamie Newman has missed five games due to injury this season, and didn't play in two others. Newman is 7-for-15 passing for 75 yards with one interception. Redshirt freshman Tayvon Bowers has played just eight snaps this season, while walk on quarterback Matthew Considine has played 12 snaps. "

6 teams behind us in the CFP rankings lost. Any chance the committee takes pity on us and still has us ranked at the end of their top 25 this week?

It's questionable whether the Big XII practices defense at all. Possibly the only conference with DB's worse than State's.

The SEC one will be just as bad. Anything other than an Alabama-Clemson championship game will be a disappointment.

If they were smart they'd hire the app state coach. Apparently they aren't because Ken Whisenhunt is the rumor right now.

Not gonna happen, but I would love it if the committee left an undefeated Notre Dame out of the CFP. Join a conference you assholes.

This should be pretty simple like always.

1) Alabama
2) Clemson
3) Notre Dame
4) Oklahoma

Ohio State was blown out by 6-6 Purdue. Everyone else in the P5 has at least 2 losses.

^But they are undefeated. Now if there were a bunch of other undefeated P5 schools then yes you could argue they should be left out. As it stands we once again have five P5 schools with 1 or less losses to take 4 spots. Everyone else just has too many losses.
