I get the net argument. But if you play a home and home with Vandy it wouldn’t be on Thanksgiving and I’m sure 10k+ would show up for a “name” opponent at PNC (I know that’s not a huge crowd but it’s more than would show up to watch us play Western Carolina and way more than would go to Vegas). I’m mostly thinking of it from a fans perspective. I get the NET stuff. And ESPN wants tv inventory for Thanksgiving…teams don’t mind doing it over Thanksgiving because fans won’t show up for a home game on Thanksgiving anyways. But it’s still dumb.

I mean fans don't show up for home non-conference games at all unless they're against a top 5 team no matter when they are. NC State fans cry about scheduling but never actually show up to games

I’m not saying it’s gonna be a sell out if/when we play Vanderbilt at home (or on the road) in late November. It’ll definitely be a better crowd than when we play UT Martin though.


But the crowd size isn’t even the point I’m trying to me. Its just way better and more enjoyable as a fan than a 10pm tip on Thanksgiving night in Las Vegas. I don’t really get how you can argue against that. I get why these events exist. But the more enjoyable alternative is definitely to play a home and home with a major conference opponent(s).

It's a struggle to even WATCH a 10pm game on Thanksgiving day much less travel to Vegas.

Hopefully the espn money and whatever other perks are worth it.

This team feels a lot different from previous KK teams. More balanced scoring. More ball handlers and distributors on the floor. It’s very early but it seems like the defensive intensity is better. Very small sample size and I’m not even saying this is his best team. Just built differently than some previous teams

I mean we're still gonna play over holidays, might as well play them at neutral sites to get a lil net bump and not have to deal with lower attendance at home during those times. I'm not advocating playing at 10pm+ eastern time, but i have no issue with playing major conference opponents in multi-team events as opposed to home/home series. It's easier to play good teams that way. Maybe we can revive the Glenn Wilkes Classic since we are the reigning champions.
