Medicare
And yes, he did cut funding to it.
He is actually expanding medicaid. Much to the dismay of states who cant afford it as is.

The budget is cut, but the implication from Romney et al is that the money evaporates, when the reality is that the money is used for more healthcare.
A lie by a false implication is still a lie. It's not hard to understand.
And since when did the right have a bleeding heart for entitlement programs...? It's blatant pandering for older voters, I don't think any of the conservatives on here actually believe in more government spending on people too dumb to save their own money or get health coverage*.

Obama's plan doesn't cut benefits though. It simply reduces payouts to providers/insurance companies which are grossly inflated anyways and do not reflect actual cost of procedures. Hence, it is a savings. 9/6/2012 2:14:24 PM |

Your second sentence is full of ignorance. I dont blame you, but you need to learn more about medicare before making statements like that.
There are increasing numbers of doctors who are either refusing to take medicare or arent seeing new medicare patients. (you really only heard of this happening with mediCAID patients before) However as the costs of doing business have risen and medicare reimbursements arent keeping up many are opting out or limiting their exposure.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2010-06-20-medicare_N.htm
That is from 2010 and they did pass a fix, but it is only getting worse. Medicare passed regulation that you had to buy one of their approved EHRs to be able to see medicare patients. The cost for our 2 offices was 60k. You couldnt give me this software, it sucks ass. We are debating whether to just use it on medicare patients only and use our old system on everyone else. Still a waste.

Quote : | ""When Congressman Ryan looked into that TV camera and attacked President Obama's Medicare savings as, quote, 'the biggest, coldest power play,' I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Because that $716 billion is exactly to the dollar the same amount of Medicare savings that he has in his own budget! He attacked President Obama, too, but he actually wants to repeal those savings and give the money back to the insurance company. He wants to go back to the old system, which means we'll reopen the donut hole and force seniors to pay more for drugs, and we'll reduce the life of the Medicare trust fund by eight full years. So if he's elected, and if he does what he promised to do, Medicare will now go broke in 2016. Think about that. That means after all we won't have to wait until their voucher program kicks in, in 2023, to see the end of Medicare as we know it."" |

Well he sure does love to brag about how domestic drilling has increased under his administration. Which is true, but only on private land in which the federal government has no say. Getting a lease for drilling on federal land under this administration is borderline impossible these days and can take up to 2 years. Compared to Bush and Clinton he is ridiculously bad in this regard.
That's the very definition of misleading in my opinion.9/6/2012 4:35:42 PM |

Shrike what the hell are you talking about? I wasnt arguing, just showing a poster the facts that there is a cut.
Hell I even posted a link that shows the differences between the two plans.
If you want to be an adult about things, seniors NEED to pay more for their health care costs. In fact the reform needed is to shift more of the costs back to the actual consumer. ALL of our revenue currently cant cover mandatory spending. Mandatory spending is set to explode with the boomers, adding more entitlements or pretending that we can go along business as usual is BS, but typical politics. 9/6/2012 4:52:32 PM |

^^^ jobs added and unemployment rate down, as read by some. less jobs than last month and were expected, as read by others.
Would not call it horrific... because it makes the Romney campaign have to explain the unemployment percentage calculation which is not the easiest soundbite to make compared to "jobs added, unemployment down to 8.1%".

The injunction wasn't unconstitutional. The moratorium was partly unconstitutional, and the injunction stopped it. But the injunction didn't do much for oil companies (and potential workers) because Obama and Co. were still able to constitutionally deny permits, which they did.
But, yes, they're back. From March of this year:
