I went to Taco Mac last night. The boneless buffalo wings were pretty good and the fries were delicious. The food prices are good, but the beer prices make up for it...the waiter made it sound like they never have specials except for the beer of the month thing (which still cost me 4.75 for the Warsteiner Oktoberfest).

As for the service, our waiter was good...but they seem to have a problem with their system of food/drink bus boys. The second beers we ordered, the waiter came back like 5-10 minutes later and had to do a 360 b/c he realized nobody ever brought our beer.

Does anyone know of a really good chiropractor in the Charlotte area? Particularly one that uses manipulation and pressure point therapy.

I've been here for 4 months now...Eastover Ridge Apartments off Randolph Rd. Why does no one play basketball here and why do all my neighbors suck?

The pool at Eastover Ridge says otherwise, haha.

Lots of drama going on today in the Plaza Midwood area. Looks like current owners of Penguin lease are being pushed out. They own the Diamond and Pinky's, both set to open in the near future. I'll not be going back to the Penguin after 10/24, from the looks of it.

who gets boneless buffalo wings over the age of 10? You are a man, show some balls and get your hands messy. buffalo wings are nothing more than chicken nuggets in sauce.

Some of us have real jobs that require us to wear big boy clothes. You try eating wings in a white dress shirt and tie, and let me know how it goes.

My friends are planning to go to Brazwell's tonight, haven't been before.

We used to go to Dilworth Neighborhood Grille on Wednesdays, but they started to go downhill after they got a new person to do the trivia.

Trivia at Lebowski's on East is pretty good and I'm a fan of their food (buffalo chicken nacho's ftw).

So have any of you been following the murder of Concord's Police Chief after leaving Thomas St. Tavern last week? Pretty twisty story. I think this girl was a weekend drug head who found herself a little too deep.

Haven't been following it at all, besides that they found the guy in Niagra. Got any recent links? Similar story to the kid that disappeared from Buckhead?

nah not really like fleischmann. They made it out to seem like this sex-offender abducted her and what not, but the more info coming to light makes it seem like she and him left together to go do drugs and went to her place and his place throughout the night. she called a friend to come join them at 3am, then apparently got a motel room after the suspect's roommate came home and made them leave his place. He claims she OD'd in her sleep at the motel and he paniced. Autopsy has shown absolutely zero physical harm or trauma.

There are a lot of strange inconstancies in the story from what I can tell. Apparently people at the bar said she looked like she needed immediate medical attention but then at 330 she called a friend wanting her to come hot tubbing or something. But dirtbag's roommate said something about bustin in on them and which led to them going to a hotel room.

I thought he killed her at first just because you don't put a body in a mini storage warehouse and flee to NY unless you had something to do with it. But I wasn't thinking like a junkie. Now I just think it's a really sad situation involving drugs.

Did not know that about Rusty Rudder, good to know. Stoolies in Matthews refused to put the State game on for our group last season when they were playing at the same time as a Carolina game. They were worried they would upset the Tarheel fans. VOMIT. Have been looking for a good place ever since.

has anyone participated in adult team sports through SportsLink?

For the past 10 years, Interlink and Sports Connection have independently offered and managed Adult Leagues and Social Activities in the Charlotte area. We have teamed up to continue offering Adults in Charlotte and surrounding areas the BEST SPORTS LEAGUES and SOCIAL EVENTS.

What is everyone up to for Halloween?

I'm going to be doing the bar crawl again, was awesome last year, but the NC Music Factory party seems like it is going to be sweet with Cake and Gin Blossoms booked.

Except that I hate that the new 1065 people are hosting it, and may boycott it based on that fact.

^^^ Sports Link blows. They were fine when it was just Interlink, but now they are trying too hard to be a complete social network. They charge you an annual fee for a player's card, on top of the charges for the league you're in. You also have to do check-in's with ID's, submit rosters, etc.

At the time we signed up for kickball it was a lot of fun because it wasn't bogged down by rules and redtape. They've successfully taken the fun out of their leagues.

So I got a job in Locust and will be hopefully moving to Charlotte sometime next week...though now it looks doubtful. We are trying to choose a place that splits the difference between Locust and SouthPark. My gf and I are looking at places around Mint Hill but they still seem pretty ghetto (can't find anything IN Mint Hill). Looking pretty hard at Indian Trail and Matthews now, which are about 30 minute commutes for each of us.

We also found a place that is directly on Ablemarle (just east of 485) and that didn't look too bad, but kind of apprehensive of living on a highway.

Thoughts or suggestions?

apartments our houses? Why splitting between there and Southpark? Just to be closer to that area for entertainment purposes?

Plaza Midwood is a good area, sort of ghetto in places and much closer to Southpark than Locust, obviously. I know you'll want to be closer to Locust for commute reasons, but I don't think traffic is bad going outbound on 74. Indian Trail blows, Mint Hill is ok, there's lot of stuff available in Matthews as well.

For the record, I live in Southpark at Park Road/Archdale intersection. Tons to do around here, great restaurants, etc.
