are Raleigh area schools that good, or is it the real estate and/or lifestyle that comfortable?

there are plenty of places where he can go an unwind - especially where he won't constantly be hounded about our coaching job.

i mean, he must really like it in raleigh.

is the entire Cowher clan here? or did the kids just love Ravenscroft?

a house at the beach might be a better place to unwind than a place full of rabid wolves begging you to be their leader.

i don't know all the details of why he moved here either...

i think he only has one girl at ravenscroft....and i am an alum, and nobody likes ravenscroft that much

raleigh is always top 10 for places to live (outside of major metro areas) and has access to beach/mountains, etc. and he went to state, and they are both from raleigh. i am sure with his cash that cowher has a vacation house or two, but sometimes you just want a community to settle into

sorry, it is not goin to be Cowher, we need a offensive minded coach, and he isnt, we need Chow, so what he is 60, he is the best offensive mind available that might actually want to come here.

Cowher owns a house on Bald Head Island. My brother's wife works for their advertising firm.

I think he may one day become NCState's head coach, just not this year. Maybe once he gets bored of the beach and playing with his kids and being home all day with the wife. Until then, we'll have an interim coach who will do no worse than what Chuck Amato did this year.

a "future" with NC State could mean a big ass donation with his name on something.. Or buying a suite to watch the home games during his retirement.. Maybe he wants to be the AD... It could mean anything really...

if he really does want to coach here eventually, which to my understanding he has said very publicly, now is his chance. possibly his last, if you think about it. (possibly not his last too, before anyone tells me i'm an idiot)

This is not official people remember that...

Cowher is still in the mix until I see a LEGIT article saying that he said NO...

heck, espn was saying that he may come, some say that he may not

Until he says no, he's still in the game...

Ok so how about this..

Lets say Cowher would've said.. Give me 2 or 3 years and I'll come back to coach. Would you guys want Amato to stay till then?

Because I can't help but think that if Cowher WERE serious this is pretty much his guaranteed shot..It's similar to when unc-ch first asked Roy(unc-ch was his dream job) and he turned them down. If Doh wouldve gone on to be an awesome coach Roy would've never gotten a second chance... Whos to say if we dont get Cowher this time we end up with a very successfull coach who would be here 20 years...

i'm more concerned about getting a mediocre coach and cowher not wanting to force him out in 5 years. if we get a great coach and it happens to not be cowher.. i'd be ok with it.

but like i said, if he really does want to coach here, this could possibly be his last chance.

yeah I was just trying to make a point with the whole 20 year thing... I just think if he wants to coach but not this year then why not tell State that so they can just hang on to Chuck for 2 more years...

Uhhh

Because two years of 1-11 would guarantee that the WFC would default on a lot of loans.

620 reporting that he'll address the coaching search today in his presser. This would be a 'No', sadly

Don't want to ruin it entirely... that's just what they're reporting.

If he does address it, it will be a no. Maybe they don't know what they're talking about, but that's odd to make something like that up

We can't afford him. NCSU needs to focus on other possible coach's before we have a basketball repeat. Get a good coach and be happy Sometimes if you shoot for the stars you just end up falling alot more than if you had shot for the sky.
