I just joined http://www.couponmom.com/ yesterday, it'll be cool to see how much it ends up saving me.

Another good way to save money on groceries is the farmer's market. Their tomatoes always seem to be like half the price that they are in a grocery store.

Did 2 orders yesterday, first was before my online-ordered coupons came in. Spent 11 bucks on $61 worth of stuff. Nice assortment of things.

2nd order was for 4 lawry marinades, 2 tubs of Duke's, a pack of band aids, can of white meat chicken, gillette shaving cream, and something else, dont have the receipt on me.

Original Cost: 31 dollars, AC: $2.33(with tax)

^^ that's awesome

Quote :
"We get to the check out. Crissy does five transactions. She places a few items on the counter and says "This is my first transaction."

This is perfectly okay by the way.

We not only talked to the manager of the store about it, we talked to corporate headquarters in Rhode Island.

Her first total is $1.05. "It would have been $14. I paid $1.05 and I just got money back, Extra Care Bucks."

Then she places the next items on the counter and this time uses the extra care bucks to pay. "It would have been about $25. I just paid $1.61."

This is the way it goes for five transactions. At the end, Crissy has a bag full of household items ranging from toothbrushes to Tums. Her total would have been $140.00. I ask "How much did you pay?" Her answer, "Under five dollars.""

If you got the inserts from today's paper, there's a $4 coupon for Gillette Fusion razors

At Target this week, Fusion Razors are $7.99 each and if you buy two, you get a $10 Target gift card

So two razors are $15.98 and if you have two of the $4 coupons, it is $7.98

and you get a $10 giftcard back

"HT only accepts 1 manufacturer's coupon per product. If the coupon says "do not double" but the bar code starts with a 5, it will still double/triple

If the barcode starts with a 9, it will not double/triple

And at HT, all internet coupons (printables from smartsource, coupons.com, etc) will not double/triple at all."

this is truth at just about every grocery store

i was a bookkeeper at lowes foods and it was the exact same way

I want to know when Lowes Foods is going to triple again! They are so much closer to me than HT!

^Lowes Foods double/triples internet coupons. Also if you have a coupon for a free product (such as a can of cat food), the cashier has to input price of the can (like $.50) and then the coupon doubles.

So you are getting a free can plus an overage of $.50

hmm, maybe it's different between stores

but we were hard pressed to even accept internet coupons... a supervisor (shift leader/bookkeeper) had to approve it

and we didn't double free item coupons...

maybe it only doubles/triples in the self checkout b/c there is nobody regulating it. I usually use SCO when I shop.

More good deals:

At CVS this week, Chex Mix is on sale 5/$5. You can print two coupons from coupons.com for $1 off each bag.

So you can get two bags free!

If you live in/near Wilson, the Harris Teeter in Wilson (I guess there is only one) is having triple coupons for 7 days (ends next Wednesday I believe)

its about an hour from Raleigh

Last year, a Harris Teeter in Fayetville had triples for 7 days and then the next week all the Harris Teeter's had triples (just for 3 days)

Lets hope history repeats itself!

Rite Aid coupons for Free Rite Aid equivalent for Brand Name medicines.

Get the Rite Aid equivalent free and you can use coupons on the brand name medicine.

^not sure if thats what you did or not.

Right now until sometime in July, Lysol NeutraAir Freshmatic Ultra Starter Kits are $5.99 at Target. Use the $5 manufacturer's coupon (expires 7/28) and get it for $.99

Airwick Freshmatics are $5.99 too but I couldn't find any coupons for it.

i think i might be misunderstanding the double coupon thing....

let's say i have 2 identical coupons for $1 off something (like $1 off General Mills cereal or something)

does this mean i can use both of those coupons on that one product, essentially getting $2 off???

I think it's more like each coupon is worth 2.00 instead. Or maybe sometimes if you only have one of the coupons you can still have it applied to each box of cereal.

You take the value shown on your coupon and double it. Your 75 cent coupon is now worth $1.50. Most stores will not double coupons with a face value of a dollar or more. You can use one coupon per item you buy. HT will allow you to use multiple coupons for the same product on a 1 coupon per 1 product ratio.

Lowes Food doubles manufacturer's coupons up to $0.99 in value. so a $0.75 coupon is worth $1.50 but a $1.00 coupon is worth $1.00

I haven't heard that Food Lion doubles.

^^ Some stores do triple... I asked Sue Stock (Coupon person for News and Observer) about tripling, and all she said was that it's hard to know when a store will do it.

On a coupon-related note, I used two coupons today and got two big bottles o' Pert Plus for 34 cents (tax).

didn't read the whole thread, but you know what drives me nuts?

when people pronounce coupons as 'KYU-PONS' instead of 'KOO-PAWNS'

do these same people pronounce a two door coupé as 'KYUP', or pronounce coup d’état as 'KYUP d’état'
?
