kill rock stars is having a sale

everything on their site is $9 until midnight

shirts, LPs, CDs, etc.

included their distributed items, which is a bunch of shit you might not expect

for instance, got the latest sonic youth on LP for $9 because of the matador distro deal

GOOD TIMES

I like the new Built to Spill song. Hopefully it's length is indicative of the rest of the songs on the album (i.e., less noodling around).

i ordered the self-titled vivian girls LP, even though its length is probably not justifiable.

also, i like the new built to spill song. it has a little bit of twang, which is cool?

I have two copies of picaresque on colored vinyl... I think only 500 were pressed. I keep meaning to sell it on ebay because other copies have gone for over 100 bucks

Pearl Jam - Backspacer has leaked. I'm somewhat liking this album so far. I'll know more when I've had a chance to listen to it fully.

they have to be happy... they don't have a Bush in office to write repetitive, angry songs about.

after several listens through, that Muse album is just above average for a Muse album. Definitely not bad but I still havent gotten over the fact that everything seemed really predictable...I felt like I had heard it all before.

Bottom line? I'm sure I'll still listen to this some at the gym and some other places where I just want something on in the background, but it certainly won't be competing for my favorite of the year or anything...we'll see if it grows on me more though.

I'm going to use this thread to point out that I don't like Kid Cudi, I don't like Ratatat, and I really don't like it when people ask me to play Kid Cudi and then immediately ask for Ratatat when I tell them no.

As for the DVD, did you put another one on my car?

no

the one I put in the bucket was on our table when we got there, and I think "Loose Change"(?) was the title, so of course I thought it would be hilarious to put in the tip bucket

oh beer

I figured that much, but I didn't know if you found another one and put it on my car.

I found it odd simply because my car was the only one with a DVD on it.

Finally got around to the new Pearl Jam and it's a pleasant surprise. Certainly their best since Yield, as has been mentioned. 5 of the 11 tracks are exceptionally good, imho.

Fans of Pearl Jam will love it.

i've only listened to it twice so far, and it definitely sounds good, but the verdict is still out for me until i look up some lyrics. and so far i haven't heard anything that seems particularly great right off the bat. at least the last album had "unemployable" and "parachutes."

despite the words being unintelligible, pearl jam's best songs tend to be the best in part because the lyrics are good. "the fixer" is a catchy song, but the lyrics are crap. i just want to make sure the rest of the album doesn't follow the same trend.

re: Beatles stereo box

The early stuff sounds wonky as shit in stereo. Way too spacey. I can't find anything all that noticeably different after Revolver, though.

...except that they friggin butchered "Don't Pass Me By". Crashes are buried way too deep, fiddler is blasting and obnoxious now, everything seems sort of murky (murkier). Poor Ringo, he writes one good song his entire career and it gets hosed.
