It depends. Do you need/want LTE? dual-core? easily hackable device? For 3G, the successors to the Droid, Droid X and Incredible will be coming. As for LTE, the Thunderbolt is the first. Awesome phone but have to watch battery life especially when using LTE. The Charge/Stealth/whatever the fuck Samsung is calling their LTE phone should be out in early April and should be nice if you don't care about software updates. Easter has been rumored for the Bionic which will likely be the only Dual-Core LTE device coming. The OS isn't optimized for dual core yet so the benefits of it are a crap shoot and you still have to deal with blur and a locked device. No ETA on the LG Revolution but it seems to look like a decent option with a less intrusive skin.

what are the chances that the iphone5 will support the LTE network on Verizon?

I'm due for an update, I like the iphone, but if its not gonna be 4g until 2012 I think I would just go with the Bionic.

I'm still on 30 myself. I know MB is fine with 31, does it break on rc3?

Does your camcorder freeze in cm7?

camcorder confirmed freezing in CM7n30 with MBn30

flashed to CM7RC3 without MB to see if it persists and found camcorder to work fine.

i can live without MB...using honeybread theme for now again.

Camcorder was freezing on my buddy's incredible with honeybread, so it may have been a CM7 bugfix.

MBn32 works on CM7n32 and camcorder issues seem to have been resolved.

I've never had an SDcard issue so I can't speak to that.

Sorry df, I actually meant MB 30, but good lookin' out on RC3

looks like beatblaster addressed my GMail issue! I feel loved. I guess I should throw him more than 2 bucks now, lol. Any idea what would cause a boot loop on someone trying to use this theme on HTC Incredible?

lol it was a waste to get CM7n32

literally the only change from RC3 was a wallpaper accreditation:

i never understood this argument, personally i think having it removed by default and if people want it, it takes .0005 seconds to download it and saves so much headache from the rest of the crowd not wanting it pre-installed in the default build. if you want it, go get it, stop bitching that it's not in the build by default.

What's wrong with the default? As long as the shit goes off when I tell it, I don't care. Plus the SenseUI alarm clock is better than the other native alarm clocks. Side note- HTC makes the most god awful ringtones and notifications

I'm pretty sure Sleep as Android uses the built in alarm system and thus my default icon shows just the same.

u mad?

I wasn't even arguing bro. I was commenting on the RC3 -> n32 only change being a wallpaper and simultaneously poking fun at the babes "controversy". I wouldn't have even realized it was missing if I didn't catch the tail end of all the comments on my twitter feed. Regardless, 5, 10, or 15 dollars doesn't magically make my opinion count one way or the other. It seems he made his decision to appease the squeaky wheels, but if I'm a developer then chances are I started this journey based on my own personal tastes and preferences. So if I want wifi tether cooked in because it's convenient or I don't want to move over my favorite wallpaper from the SDcard every time I flash then who the fuck are you to tell me it's inappropriate? Find another rom or simply wait for your handset manufacturer's update. And that's 'you' in the general sense of the term -- None of that is actually directed @ Prospero.

Grandmaster - my comments were merely a rant on the situation, not directed at you either...

Quote :

speaking in general, not about your comment, it just sparked my rant.

general consensus would say it's inappropriate and don't want it. it's not imposing on your right to download it and use it as your background, it's just merely changing the default in the ROM.

I got my DX last july when it first came out, and with the exception of the first 2-3 weeks that I had it, this thing has never consistently run smooth for me. Every new stock OTA update and every rom I install work fine initially, but I inevitably run into the same issues over and over (screen freezing/becoming unresponsive, keyboard not responding, etc) that require me to pull the battery and hope the phone doesn't shit itself gain for a while. If I revert back to stock (currently running gingerbread leak) and take this thing to Verizon, will they give me a new DX? I have insurance, and this really seems like more of an issue with my phone than anything else

My wife's phone had that issue. Swapping out for a new one cleared it up.

Seemed to be a heat issue with hers.

So I can walk into a Verizon store and say "hey, this" and they'll give me a new one? Or am I better off calling and seeing if they'll mail me a new one?

If it's anything like Sprint, YMMV with stores. I've always had great luck with Advanced Tech Support (if you're within a year or have insurance). If it's a legitimate issue, they should overnight you one without making you issue a claim.

If you do try a store then I'd go to an actual Verizon store and not an authorized reseller. Unless of course it's where you purchased the phone.

most likely won't be new and just a "certified like new" device which could have more issues.

They'll switch the DX out but whether it will be any better is iffy. I went through 3 defective ones before switching to an iPhone (android is nice but my shit has to work 100% and I don't have time to fuck around with 20 different rooms finding one that works and is stable). I currently have 2 more that are having issues, 1 of which is already a replacement. I'm a business account so maybe that has something to do with it but the quick agreement to switch the phones out leads me to believe that they know Moto has some issues with the phone. I've used both the store and the 800 number to get them swapped without a problem. If you call, just tell them that you've already done a factory reset and you're still having issues.
