i did what this guy did (factory reset to 2.3.340), and then it appeared to be all great, except during the big storm i couldn't get the phone to activate, but already had the "update.zip" on my SD card from what these guys were talking about (update to gingerbread), since i assumed i didnt have to activate the phone before running that gingerbread update

and now when i turn the phone on, the red Moto logo is on for a few seconds, and then it goes to that screen up there

yeah, if you're only getting the bootloader, something is screwed. RSDlite is relatively straight forward and should get you back though.

i need some help w/ this RSD thing

is there any way to use RSD to read the SD card on my phone, since windows wont recognize it as a storage device?

i assume that i need to use RSD to sbf that maderstock340.zip file from the youtube link right, and not the droid life gingerbread "update.zip" file ?

alright, my phone works again, but it's now on Android 2.2.1, Sys Version 2.3.340.MB810

when i try to get an OTA update, it says im already up to date

how can i get to gingerbread from here?

If it's anything like the OG Droid, there should be a .sbf file and you just flash it over usb. http://www.intomobile.com/2010/09/21/droid-x-stock-android/ is a walkthrough of restoring an older version.

You won't get the 2.3 OTA yet as the "official" build hasn't been pushed out yet.

That's just the version for that Froyo update and isn't related to Gingerbread. Not sure if there's been a froyo update since December when that one was pushed out. Looks like it may be the latest though http://support.vzw.com/system_update/droid_x.html

^^^just train some more...also it will say "not ready to fight" but thats kind of the "allow other people to challenge me" mode...you can manually pick an opponent...although you at least have to train some first

i just credded both of yall...if you go into the Shoutbox and post your cred tag every now and then, its a good way to build it up

that and Tap Fish are my new games although i just got that Angry Birds Seasons update

im having issues w/ my contacts list

what i WANT is for only the "Phone" group to show up under Contacts, but the only list that shows any contacts is "all contacts" and it is everything from facebook to email addresses
