ummm, go to the stock messaging client, click settings and uncheck notifications.

you dont really disable it, unless you uninstall the apk

So I just rooted my fascinate and installed 2.2. Is there a way to make google voice not suck? For example, I say "call First Name Last Name", and it searches the web for "call First Name Last Name". Also I say "Text 'First Name Last Name' .. 'message'" and it creates a text message with "text First Name Last Name message' with no contact. Am I missing something here?

If I unroot (fascinate), does it get rid of all my apps/contacts/data/etc? I'm going to want to unroot to download the new froyo, but I don't want to lose anything I've got. Is there a one click method to unroot like that?

The only way I know of is to flash back using the odin package so the answer is yes. I'd just wait until the developers have an ED01 rom. Not to mention, it'll probably be hard if not impossible to root straight from the new update.

ok i have to pull a 180 on my criticism of the Seidio 2800mAh extended battery...previously when it got down to 10% or 5% i'd swap it out for another battery...but after 5% i left this one in to try and drain it so it could get a max charge and its just chugging along with the red LED flashing and has been for about an hour

Not that I know of. That list of 6 main cities must've been the only ones getting turned on today. They've updated the online coverage map to reflect it. Hopefully being just outside the extended area isn't going to be a bitch on battery life. On the brightside, I'll have LTE if I decide to go fishing.

Maybe. You would think they'd have to pull additional backhaul to those locations though. oh well. They've supposedly been testing in other NC locations so I doubt raleigh will be too far behind.

I used a blackberry storm briefly the other day, and I started to miss it from when I had one ~2 years ago.

I think google is missing out on conquering the next frontier.........cloud based office suite.


Google docs sucks, its sluggish and lacking features, and no official android apps. If they want to replace the pc with tablets and chrome os netbooks this is a must.

The only ms office thing they have sucessfully replaced so far is outlook.
