I wonder if the Lakers could get ANYTHING for Kobe in the offseason.

I kinda doubt it because I don't see any contenders willing to destroy their salary cap by taking on his 2 yr/ $57 million remaining contract.

The smaller market teams might choke on the $57 million unless the Lakers were willing to take on some really shitty contracts in return and then amnesty one of them... but that's not all that helpful...

I think they're probably stuck with him at this point. They're going to keep becoming more irrelevant as Kobe, Gasol, and Artest age though... Seems like they have to do something, but I guess Kobe is still marketable so maybe they'll stand pat.

seems like okc was expecting ebanks to have the ball in his hands on those possessions, as they should have been. good strategy by the lakers by having the 6th best player on the court in kobe take those shots, though.

^^^^ because Thabo is really good? He would start on most teams.

Kobe was alright, he got hot late but he almost dug them too deep of a hole to come back from.

If Harden doesn't get sucker elbowed out of the game the Thunder win this one easy. It left them with Westbrook shooting every play instead

^ exactly, he shot the ball poorly overall and there are still twisted people out there that don't see that

yeah i think that'll get 10 games.

Minimum of 5 at least. Too blatant and to a star player right before the playoffs on the favorites to win the title? Gotta be several games

Damn I didn't realize westbrook went 3/22

he gets the ball at the end of possessions that are fucked anyway against a great defensive team. 35% at the end of the shotclock is pretty damn good. Also, lets look at his 4th quarter and overtime fg%....CLUTCH

[Edited on April 22, 2012 at 7:45 PM. Reason : what is okc fg% d?]

^^ Now you're just making shit up. Kobe has never had a good "clutch" fg% in his entire career.

He's shooting 29% from 3's this year. The guy is washed up, period.

Answer the questions including the "what did he shoot in the 4th qtr and overtime today?"

He shot well in the 4th quarter today. He was what, 3-14 coming into the 4th? I would hope he'd eventually make something he's the highest paid player in the league so it'd be a little disconcerting if he wass the worst player on the court not named Russell Westbrook today.
Quote :
"
since 1996-97, Kobe has taken 115 shots in the final 24 seconds of close games (teams within two points). No one has taken more shots in this situation.

Kobe has only hit on 31.3% of these shots, a mark eclipsed by many other players.

Since Kobe arrived, the Lakers have had the best offense in the league. But in crunch time – with Kobe on the roster – the Lakers are quite a bit worse (ranking only 12th).

So, Kobe takes more shots than anyone else in crunch time. But he isn’t particularly good at making these shots and Kobe taking all these shots doesn’t appear to help his team."

You guys are so brainwashed from shoe commercials and ESPN hype it's like you can't even entertain an independent thought.

pretty sure Carmelo has the highest FG% on final second shots

but he's not even a top 5 player on the Knicks

They had a lot of guys out for this one (couple sick, caron butler hurt in the 1st), and the Hornets have gotten better the past few weeks. But even still, doesn't look as good for the clippers as it did when they had Billups. I remember the Thunder game in January where they hit 4 threes in a minute. Dont see that happening nowadays.

when some teams have a 6%+ margin of error in WP vs actual wins in an 82 game season, I don't know how you can have so much faith in 3 more WP in a 66 game season when that margin of outlier teams becomes over 9.5%
