Everything that was going well for the Braves early in the season (i.e. great pitching, clutch hitting) is now gone. The offense is clearly flawed as we all knew it would be, but good God the pitching has been awful the past couple weeks. Too many automatic outs in the lineup and too many ABs where a player see 4 pitches or less. Pitchers should not be racking up 10+ Ks through 5-6 innings and only have 70 pitches thrown.

Credit the Tigers though as they played great, but the Braves looked like AAA team this weekend.

The Tigers have a great lineup full of veterans and they rocked the Braves young starters. Nothing too shocking there. I was more surprised at how awful the Braves hitters were against the Tigers starters. I fully expected us to strike out 10+ times each game, but I did not expect the Braves hitters to be so overmatched.

Huddy a HOF?

Obviously he wont get to the usual 300 win standard, but his career was smack in the middle of the PED era...

He could be around 220-230 depending on how long he plays, I think the lack of all-stars and cy young award will hurt, but he does have one of the best win% of all time..

Maybe he'll have a real good year and do all of those things and win a WS. Then he'd probably be in

[Edited on April 30, 2013 at 10:44 PM. Reason : Maybe 240..]

Hudson won't make the HOF unless he can pitch another 5+ years and get to 250+ wins. Dude is in great shape though so he may be able to pitch to 42, but we'll see.

Thank God the Braves can beat the Nats consistently. I have a feeling this team is going to drive me insane this season with slumps and winning streaks.

His only shot at the HOF is something along the lines of a dominant playoff stretch ie World Series MVP.

^ that plus another 30+ wins. Or a Cy Young and 30+ wins. He just doesn't pass the eye test right now and he's never been considered the most dominant pitcher of his time. Just one of the top 10-20 guys consistently. He's kind of like Mike Mussina and Mussina has no chance at the HOF.

he should definitely make the Braves HOF, and he's on the verge of having his number retired by Atlanta (IMO).

I don't think he'll be an MLB HOFer, much as I'd love to see it

[Edited on May 1, 2013 at 11:23 AM. Reason : verge = couple or three more seasons of good, consistent production]

Why the shit is the Braves game blacked out on ESPN!

like i can drive from raleigh to get a fucking ticket.

i don't understand why Raleigh is not part of the Braves Market. i'd trade the last 2 years of shitty hockey for Baseball.

least i can go to a Hurricanes game

^^ wouldn't the Braves have to be part of the Raleigh market in order for it to be blacked out? I was wondering why I was getting Sportscenter instead of the game last night. I thought maybe the game got rained out.

I'm wondering how long it'll be before the Braves are no-hit this year? This is the third time in a week that the Braves have been completely dominated. They got one fucking hit from a regular last night and wasted a 3 hitter by Maholm. Shit Maholm had as many hits as the other 8 guys combined.

^ i say braves market because most games are on Fox Sports South (aka a blackout of ESPN in the FSS viewing area). which we don'y get. i think people in Charlotte might get FSS? but all we have is Fox Sports Carolina.

i wish they would add FSS to the sports package that gives you the redzone channel

It just confuses me. Its like a fuck you to Braves fan is Raleigh. hey the braves are going to play on ESPN wed night. oh btw we gonna black you fools out in raleigh.

^^ Yeah, Charlotte gets Fox Sports South and Peachtree/Sports South, so even when the games have been blacked out on ESPN this season we can still watch them on those channels. I would be really pissed if I still lived in Raleigh when these things happened.

Last 10 batters for the braves - 6 pop/fly outs, 3 ground outs(1 was a bunt), 1 homerun....Haren has thrown 69 pitches in 7 innings.

Good night the Braves offense is putrid. Haren went into that game with a 6+ ERA and a .355 BA against him. The Braves might get no-hit multiple times this season. There are simply no disciplined hitter anywhere in the lineup other than maybe Freeman and arguably Johnson. Just a bunch of hackers trying to crush a HR every time up.

^this is surprising why? Atlanta has never been a city with huge fan support? Enough? Yes...but nothing big. Definitely more than "a couple hundred" there as well. This isn't Miami...

Also...5 run 3rd for the good guys. best offensive inning all season consisting of 2 doubles, 3 singles and 3 walks. Still left 3 on base, but when you score 5...eases that a lil.

The Braves have a huge fanbase in the south, but they suck when it comes to showing up for games. I think they were spoiled by 13 straight regular season penants.

Anyway. Smoltz is my favorite color man in baseball. He should replace McCarver in the WS.

Braves didn't win 14 straight pennants...

Atlanta is a shit sports town, everyone knows that. They're sitting in the middle of the NL in attendance per game, though. Turn to page two of your Trolling the Braves Thread 101 book now.
