In Western's previous game, they took #25 Furman to double-overtime (but lost 88-90)....

So either Western isn't completely terrible, or Furman is way overhyped and had a terrible game.

Furman is definitely not a top 25 team. Western Carolina is ass. Furman is better than WCU, by about 200 spots in kenpom. So maybe furman had an especially bad game. Or Western played good. But Western Carolina is very bad and Furman is not a top 25 team

He makes a valid point. Those coaches know that if they go on the road early to Tulane or wherever that it's gonna be a packed house and they typically don't take the risk. There are reasons why these programs avoid scheduling early road trips.

The other thing to consider is that the SOJ can be pretty shaky this early in the season, although many people will argue that road games are irrelevant when the team's SOJ is so high.

Just my opinion though. I agree with him.

For a while I thought Braxton was over-hyped this year, but looking at the numbers now I'm not so sure. Part of it could be his hand injury, and I've heard talk of him being seen on campus wearing a boot for some sort of foot injury. But though he hasn't been as impressive as last year, his numbers aren't *that* bad.

He's down 10% on FGs, sure, but he's hitting 3's at the about the same rate so far (32.6% this year vs 38.5% last year). Also, is PF per game is just under pace for last year (2.3 this year vs 2.7 last year). And that's all while averaging 10 less minutes per game.

So while he hasn't impressed me so far, I wouldn't say I'd be overly concerned (except maybe that Mercer game!). He has had a bit of a dry spell the last few games, but he showed up some for Wisconsin. I'm hoping the break gives him some time to heal his hand.
