can E Man do his methodology on our basketball recruiting class / expected power rankings or whatnot?

Keatts has done an amazing job so far.

1. He got most of the team to stay
2. He signed the best guys he could with the time he had
3. He has a good recruiting pipeline going for 2018 and beyond
4. Yurtseven has improved dramatically
5. We play a full 40 minutes of basketball
6. We have a way better system that has the bonus of being interesting to watch
7. He has some really impressive wins already
8. Our AdjO is better than last year so far and our AdjD is better than the last two years
9. I could go into individual stats but suffice to say they're very impressive for the level of talent we have (defensive TO% is night and day / offensive rebounding top 15 in the country).

there's way more but just off the top of my head I'd say he's pretty damn credible. we were supposed to finish last or second to last in the ACC. the fact that we can even still hope for bubble contention is impressive given the level of talent that he had when he picked up this program (which was also in blatant mutiny).

Terrible performance but Pitt bailed him out by being exactly as bad as we thought they were.

The passing performance was not blowing a game like this, so he passed. Barely.

After the last two games he needs to figure out how to handle a zone on offense, and how to quit doubling with our big men up high on defense and leaving their big men wide open under the basket. Coach them up Keatts.

We handled the zone just fine on offense, no one could hit a wide open shot though.

Gott's teams would have lost this by 20.

We played the zone fine...just need to hit open shots...and maybe try to attack it with the dribble a bit more rather than force it to Y7.

I'm assuming because the guy he was guarding was a threat to shoot and they didn't want him switching off of him.

Uh... Because guarding a high screen and hedging on the shooter is one of the most basic basketball defensive moves for the big man.

His man doesn't even have to be a shooting threat, but if the man he is screening for is, then Yurt has to hedge on the screen. Gott's teams were notoriously poor at this.

One high screen and they free up an open 3 or a wide open cutting big man to the basket because DSJ or Cat would go under the screen and our big men were terrible at helping off.

Agree here. Our zone offense was fine. Dorn and Freeman blew multiple gimme shots within 5 feet of the rim, and we missed a ton of good looks from 3.

Bigger concern is the amount of open shots they were getting from deep -- even in the second half when they couldn't hit anything. Same thing happened in the Miami game. Hope Keatts sorts that out soon
