I think it's smart to schedule like this for the first few years. Of course it sucks for us fans but the program needs wins right now. Getting blasted by an sec team isn't going to help the program out.

Hopefully we have a 9 win season in 2014, schedule better teams in 2015 and actually win some of the games.

I love the energy the new staff has shown, however if you think that they are somehow "killing it" on the recruiting trail, you need to come back down to earth. Every coach gets a little boost in their first year of recruiting. Hell, TOB brought in 5 4*'s in his first season. Doeren and his staff have yet to pull one in. Hell, 3 of the 4 guys we got this weekend, we were their only FBS offer. If we still had TOB, people would be bitching about this class. We still don't have a commit from a Top 10 player in NC and we look to only have a shot at one(Street). If we don't end up getting a couple of Street, Thompson, Kamara, etc...this class will look even worse.

Oh, btw...that North Carolina class that everyone keeps talking about us "killing" is ranked #20 in the nation with 2 4* recruits right now. We're standing at #37. Yeah...really "killing" it. Some people need to come back down to earth and stop blowing sunshine up everyones asses.

Pratt is a 4 star on Rivals and McClendon is a 4 star on ESPN.

This just depends on what site you're looking at really. I think "killing" is the wrong word, I think RIGHT NOW our program recruiting has more momentum than they do, we've just beat them out for 3-4 recruits that we both wanted, some even down to just the 2 teams in their top 2. Right now we're "killing" them in-state recruiting, but overall we're both doing well.

UNC has 4 in-state commits, all 4 are in the top 50.
NC State has 12 in-state commits, 11 are in the top 50.
So when it comes to in-state recruiting, we are technically killing UNC.

Plus a lot of the guys we've landed lately have been shooting up the recruiting rankings lately so it has people more optimistic that we're not only getting the talent we want, but we're identifying high-end talent before they blow up(Tony Adams from NR to 3* #6 C in the nation after only playing OL for a year or so). Long way to go before the rankings are solidified, but the momentum is going in the right direction. We're ahead of where we normally were with TOB at the helm and now we can focus more energy on landing the top guys(Street, Thompson, Kamara, etc). Also it's been BIG that we've shown more success than we've had in a LONG time in Charlotte, which will hopefully payoff down the road.

We are now at #24. Not bad for a staff that was hired less than 7 months ago. I think just as important as the rating of this years class, is that it is filling out quickly, which will allow the staff more time to focus on creating relationships with higher rated players in later classes.

lol. We also have 18 commits and 19 of the 30 teams behind us have <10 commits. Hey, I'm all for this staff, I love their enthusiasm and I want them to work out. I want a winner just as bad as everyone on here. But if you think that landing multiple three star athletes is some great achievement that puts Coach Doeren and his staff an echelon above anything TOB ever did...you are just flat out wrong and I have the stats to back it.
