i'm too tired for this
the one that really sticks out to me if we're talking about those two ideas, though
is that i'm almost positive that UP will win best animated on the strength of its first half hour, which is absolutely brilliant
but i far preferred fantastic mr. fox as a whole 3/5/2010 3:07:20 AM |

if you're ever in a chilled out mood, you should check out some of Bill Laswell's dub material, and Scientist is another one of my favorite dub artists3/5/2010 3:16:49 AM |

one of my DJ friends is way into dub, i need to get some stuff from him
it might be a matter of being in the right frame of mind to appreciate it
i've never really gotten into the go! team, but we were testing out the new sound system at jp tonight and were listening to fuck buttons for like an hour
then i got in my car and the go! team came on
and it finally clicked

The opening sequence in Up is so fucking good. The third act borders on downright silly.

we got new cabinets while ours get fixed
sounds good...not great, but a million times better than it has for the past couple months
we tested everything and it sounded awesome, and as soon as the guy who helped us set it up leaves, of course the speaker in the middle room stops working completely
but whatever
main room sounds really good 3/5/2010 3:40:47 AM |

Shut your mouth, heathen. It is progressive, and it's a masterpiece at heart.

^^^ i'm probably going to bonnaroo again this year and feel like i should be more familiar with his catalog since he'll be one of the headliners. which albums would you recommend? i'm generally opposed to greatest hits even though that'd probably be my best bet given the fact that his catalog is quite large and festivals seem to encourage artists of his stature to play the more well known songs. then again, 3 of pearl jam's first 5 songs in 2008 were b-sides, but i guess that's neither here nor there. 3/5/2010 10:06:34 PM |

one of my friends had been pestering me to watch wet hot american summer for weeks because it was so fucking hilarious, so i did earlier tonight and didn't think it was as funny as everyone said. i heard other people fellate this movie while i was in college. is there something wrong with me, or was this just a case of a quality movie being overhyped? 3/6/2010 2:18:41 AM |

maybe watching it by myself didn't help. comedies are generally funnier with other people around. i try to tell myself the same thing regarding it's always sunny in philadelphia because i watched seasons 1 and 2 and part of season 3 by myself and didn't think it was nearly as good as people said. 3/6/2010 1:09:33 PM |

I did a deconstructive literary analysis of the album's "text" (I included its many album pictures, the lyrics, and some of the stage performances which are extremely elaborate)--maybe I'll send it your way to understand it better. The story it tells is amazing, and each song is an extremely detailed and trippy journey in that story.3/6/2010 1:12:32 PM |
