Yeah, ive kinda lost track of our team philosophy myself. Just seems like a garbled mess of players that dont really know what theyre supposed to be doing on the court right now. And 20 games into the season...thats on the coach.

And i am damn jealous of the offense unc runs. Constant movement, crisp passes. Just so much better than whatever we have run theblast 3 decades

Semantics? You said we have a couple 5* and a couple 4* coming to campus, that implies we have a bunch of new recruits. SKJ and Bates have been on campus. Bates hasn't played basketball in almost 2 years. SKJ will be a good edition, probably easily better than Walker, but star ratings are used to predict college performance. Like I said, it's silly to keep using star ratings after someone has played 2 years in college and only once posted double digit scoring or rebounds.

As for Leque, yea people had him at 5, then watched him play more and downgraded him. You can't brag on star ratings but then claim some conspiracy in star ratings.


Also, Funderburk, Beverly, Harris and Daniels are all high major transfers but are mostly sitting behind low/mid major transfers.

I agree that we don’t seem to have much of an offensive identity right now. We do pick and roll stuff and shoot a lotta 3s. But it often doesn’t seem to flow well.

Our offense is based on one on one mathchups, our guy beating there guy. That's one area that Lecque should def help, assuming he can get his outside shot semi consistent.

On another note, Saddiq Bey has been playing really well at Nova wish we had him


Also Markell seems to be the only one who is good at driving and kicking, and he seems to have taken a step back this season and/or post injury. Dorn, daniels and Bryce all seem to put their head down and get stuck when the defense collapses. So long story short, we're just not good enough for this type of offense (like DMS has said)

Also Dorn loves those one foot inside the 3pt shots. I wish we had some analytics for his percentages there

We need December/Early January Markell back and we will be fine. The schedule is favorable from here on. We will probably be favored in 6/8. 10-8 still very possible. Hell we've beat Duke the last two years. We could pull it off again.

you're right that isn't not sustainable (Steere and Bey being the other two examples, i assume).

but.

nothing is official yet. if true, it seems to be a discipline issue. i wouldn't jump to conclusions because this recruiting class isn't finished...we still can add to it. and if it's a discipline issue, all bets are off...that shit isn't really predictable. it's bad news, imo, when good players like the Martins make lateral transfer moves. it's never good to have a player kicked off the team, but that's not necessarily an indicator of what's to come in future classes.

i do wonder how Keatts will approach transfers/juco/grad transfers in future years. was the influx transfers just bridging the gap until the he can get a few recruiting classes in? is that type of roster turnover his norm? it's ok if it is, because he had a full roster this year. the problem with Gott was we were scrambling to field a team...Keatts has us plenty of bodies.

1. i never said he wouldnt be an upgrade over any current players, but
2. funderburk was more highly rated out of HS and Walker starts
3. for some reason bball reference doesnt have SKJ conf stats for last year, but for all games per 100 possessions, Walker is averaging more points and rebounds than SKJ.
4. Walker also has more double digit reb games (2) and pts (2) games this year than SKJ ever had (0 for both).

We seemed to have more-than-usual turnover under Gott, but the college bball landscape as a whole has a lot more transfers than it used to. Kids don't want to compete for playing time, they want to go somewhere where they're handed the keys.
