It helps that he wasn't game planned for too. Will be interesting to see how the spurs bounce back.

Lance fucked up making it personal and calling out Lebron. Even his teammates are saying so.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for 40 tonight now.

If they keep playing him the same way (doubling in the paint with West or Hibbert), he won't go for 40 but he might get 15 assists

If you are gonna foul lebrons you literally have to punch him in the mouth, he is too strong for that weak shit

[Edited on May 26, 2014 at 9:41 PM. Reason : 2nd half will be the typical heat "lock down defense" where they can hack grab and slap without call]

I swear earlier this quarter that the announcers rightfully said "you can't play defense with your hands". Pretty sure that's all Vogel was complaining about.

I'm looking forward to hearing Earl's take on why the refs aren't fixing the game for the Pacers, since a 7 game series earns more money, and that's what the refs are instructed to do

David West has never committed a foul in his life. At least based on his reaction to any and all whistles that's what you would be lead to believe.

At least Lance came to play in the 4th.

he may whine too much, but he is far and away the most likable dude on the Pacers

not exactly a high bar, but still

and I love Hibbert due to his Parks and Rec cameos, but he is the least trustworthy All Star ever

You rather get good ratings in the finals than risk it all on getting to a game 7 where the pacers could get hot and ruin their whole finals.

They can severely affect a game but refs can't make shots go in or out.

they can waive off shots by calling offensive fouls

why aren't you so gung ho about your batshit theory anymore?

Sometimes a team can play so well that the refs can't influence the game. They obviously can't call offensive fouls if theres no contact. they have no answer for the 3pt shot if one team hits them all and the other team misses. This is why they aren't going to just give the team they want to lose a series a game to make it go 7.

Its not that stupid if even the players believe its true. When you look at the free throw differential theres no way you can say the game was not skewed last night. Miami, a perimeter team, pressure defense team shooting twice as many free throws as a drive and bang team that plays conservative d.

The NBA is a complete joke. Am I even watching the right press conference? He got fined 25k for saying Miami won because they made 30 free throws? How is that blaming officiating? Guilty conscious much?

Even though the game was fixed, if Miami was extremely cold, and Indiana was extremely hot, Indiana could have pulled it out. Theres only so much the officials can get away with. They do most of their damage early in quarters when people aren't really paying attention. Get a key player in foul trouble, get a team into the bonus and go from there.

You do realize that Indy has taken more free throws than Miami so far this series, right. Game 1 essentially looked exactly the same as Game 3 in terms of the FT differential, just flipped.

Pacers played like dog shit last night, actually admitting that they couldn't shoot, that Lance was awful, that Paul George played with zero aggression until the 4th quarter, Miami have 5 turnovers to their 14... all of this had more to do with the outcome than the officials.

If you're down by 23 in the 4th you don't get to blame the officials.

Foul calls have nothing to do with turnovers and the size of a lead. Got it.

Right so you're admitting the game was flipped. The question for you is did Miami all of a sudden become bigger, and shoot less jumpshots or did Indiana do the opposite? Did the rules somehow change after game 1 and pressure defense with your hands lead to less foul calls?

I've seen POP give up early in games for the past two years. I think in last year's Finals loss as well.
Sometimes it'll be in the 4th quarter with Spurs only down 15-ish points or something, and then he never reinserts his starters. Maybe Duncan, Ginobilli, etc are really getting old, but I would never give up without a fight.

On any other team, starters would be given a chance to make a run. This is the NBA conference finals for heavens sake. I don't see the Thunder resting their starters.

I mean if you're going to give up this early, let the 3 point shooters start flying, Bonner, Ginobilli, Leonard, Green, Marco.

I am 100% certain Popovich has the numbers on probability of coming back down by that much and the value of resting for the next game.

The Pacers suck so bad right now. They are walking the ball up so much they just walked the ball up and turned it over while bosh was in the 4th row opposite baseline. This offense is inexcusable. Lance was taking trick shots in pregame. Vogel needs to be fired so hard.

They were Down by 10 shooting 2 for 8 from the line when I made that post. LeBron has had a career record foul pace tonight and it's been on all touch fouls. He usually makes 7 harder fouls than those 5 every game and gets called for 3 or 4 max. They made it really obvious tonight.
