If it wasnt for work and other extracurricular activities, I'd already be done with "A Clash of Kings." Hopefully I'll finish it up tomorrow or Thursday though and move onto the third book. Both books so far have been really quick reads for their length and a lot of fun.
The only thing I can see happening is that this series could catch the Wheel of Time curse where it starts to drag on. Hopefully that isnt the case, because I have really enjoyed this series for 2 books I just wonder how well my interest will be held for 5 more (2 published, 3 forthcoming). The pace so far has been great, and really feels like it would have been perfect at ~4 books. 9/8/2009 2:22:23 PM |

"Wonder Boys" by Michael Chabon.
Recommended by a girl I'm seeing. She said it's her favorite and that he's one of her favorite authors. Already read "The Yiddish Policemen's Union," which I enjoyed. Halfway through "Wonder Boys" and it hasn't disappointed so far. We'll see how it ends up.

aha. i too had to go get another Gaiman book. I almost picked up Good Omens, but decided instead on Neverwhere. I'm currently reading it right now.
it's pretty good. i never saw the BBC series, and just now found out that the book derived from the screenplay.
Still, i liked "American Gods" much better. 9/11/2009 1:24:40 PM |

This book is absolutely incredible.
our generation's epic masterpiece to rival Frank Herbert's original Dune. It's just as enormous and complex in scope... or even moreso: Stephenson created his multiverse based on current research in computational metaphysics and quantum mechanics.

Books 1-3 were so good, expecting #4 to be a let down from most people i've talked to. Besides, as I've said earlier, I can't see him carrying this on as strongly for several more books...it really feels like he could have wrapped it up in one more long book after a storm of swords. anyways onto book #4:

about 3/4 of the way through "Name of the Wind." Wish I had more time to read lately because the book is good, but im having to read it in small intervals which is always annoying to me. 10/27/2009 10:27:37 AM |

Was basically the sequel to his book "Blindness"....which was amazing and disturbing at the same time. "Seeing" wasn't quite as good...but entertaining nonetheless...a little more satirical as well.
Now about 1/5 of the way through:
Which is a sequel to "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo"...also an excellent book. This one seems to be pretty similar. I'm sure I will enjoy. 10/27/2009 11:00:14 AM |

Trying to decide what I want to pick up next. Anyone ever read the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb? Starts with the book The Assassin's Apprentice. I've heard a lot of good things about the series, but I guess like anything else I've heard my share of harsh reviews too.
I'm mainly interested because the subject matter is remotely related to an idea i've had brewing for awhile.
Also I'm planning to read through C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy sometime soon as well. 10/30/2009 8:11:15 AM |

Crazy for The Storm-Somewhat interesting. Hard to follow his descriptions of descending down icy structures. Surely You're Joking, Mr Feynman!- Hilarious. The guy was a genius, prankster, and pimp (didn't expect to see him shouting "YOU ARE WORSE THAN A WHORE" ) Zodiac-Kind of lazy writing towards the end, but overall bad ass. Contagious-I absolutely hate this guy's writing style. I stayed for the alien invasion.
Just picked up (god damn this is a thick set):
