He headed up recruiting for Kansas and Wisconsin... All of what you read about him would bring you to the conclusion that he's a better recruiter than TOB. THat was always TOB's notorious flaw (even at BC)

It's amazing how much crap Chuck gets here... He gave NCSU the best ranking it's had since 1974 under Lou Holtz. He brought the walk of champions, and brought the mindset that we could and should be a national contender. We owe a lot to Chuck... a lot more than ignorant comments about the coach that gave us our best record in school history.

I'm totally buying Doeren... I like that he wanted to be here. Like someone else has already stated, the mindset that we are a stepping stone is silly... no one has used us as one since the 70's, and our facilities are among the top in the nation. He seems real to me, and he seems to have some real drive. I look forward to seeing what he can get our kids to do.

after watching multiple youtube vids of Doeren speaking / working, he definitely has some Herb Sendek in him. But while he comes off as reserved, he is also quite normal - even dominant when he needs to be.

This combo makes you rethink your initial impression based on the way he speaks, which is sooo unlike when you first hear Herb's intellectualism.

He is sooo much more humanly relatable than TOB was. Unless you also went to the naval academy that is...
