As a Devils fan I felt more than angry at first. I just chalked it up to being par for the course of my life at the moment. I would have liked to have seen more Zach and Patty. Perhaps over the summer we can get one or two legitimate D-men and ditch Havelid and Greene.

All in all the Canes wanted it more and King Ward was stellar.

I am still shaking. I can't believe what I saw. I don't even know what I saw. I'm not even sure i saw it. Thank you to everyone at Tobacco Road, including all of the random people I was hugging. It's hard to say this is the greatest thing ever, since there was a Stanley Cup, but this is pretty close because drama like this is pretty rare in sports. This has got to be one of the greatest series EVER played in the NHL. There was around I would say a THOUSAND people at the airport tonight; it was quite a sight. There is no way to explain how happy I am right now. I haven't stopped smiling for 4 hours.

Tomorrow morning I will start thinking about the round 2 thread. I might not even go to sleep tonight.

^^ Even though I am a devoted Canes fan, you still can't take away from Brodeur's performance. There were spectacular saves on both sides during the series and there were goals that got by that neither goalie should have allowed. This series was surely a battle of goaltenders. Even though Ward came out on top, I don't think you can blame Brodeur for anything other than letting the Canes keep it closer than it could have been. Were it not for his stellar play, this series could have been over much earlier.
