ok it might look something like this (hard to simulate what it will turn out like exactly)

I'm also debating whether or not I want to run in this:

Blows my mind that people do this under a half hour.

But anyways, is there a rule that you have to eat the doughnuts at Krispy Kreme? Can you grab them and run back to the belltower, eat them, and then step over the finish line?

No, you do not. You can register as a casual runner rather than a competitor and eat a few doughnuts or no doughnuts at all. You can also race back to the Belltower with the box of doughnuts."

In the second sentence, I'm not sure if they're referring to challengers or casual runners. However, as a challenger, they have to examine your empty box at some point. I think that is only done at KK.

emack could bring some respectability to this site if he sported some tww gear, since i'd bet the house he wins again.

if i ran as well, i'm sure we could claim the first two spots rather easily for tww, but i have no desire to take part again, not a fan of large crowds, among other things.

Map's out:

New Route for 2012 – the Most Challenging Challenge Yet!

As the popularity and size of Krispy Kreme Challenge has grown, congestion on stretches of road shared by inbound and outbound runners has increased. We have worked closely with Raleigh Police to modify the route to enhance runner safety by reducing two-way traffic on narrower stretches. While the 2012 route is longer (about 5 miles total), the new route should provide you with an even better experience.

Check out the 2012 Krispy Kreme Challenge route (click “view full” at the bottom of the map for more detail):

Tried out the route last Saturday. Took it easy after a tough work out the day before and did it in 44 minutes. I hope that leaves me enough time to eat and puke.

2 more weeks! I am going to try to run the route this weekend. I haven't been doing nearly enough running to prepare for this. I have however, been eating a lot of pastries. So I should be good for that part of the race. How is everyone else's training going?

So I had a kidney infection about two weeks ago which was making me rethink registering for the race.

And I went back to the website to register for real today but the registration is all full, so I'm thinking I'll just show up and run around with team tdub?

I have about 7 shirts in various colors (black/red), sizes (M/L), and quality (those little Asian children are industrious, but even they make mistakes). First come, first served (if anyone is interested at all).

we should plan for a meet up spot prior to the race so we can meet/hang out before running/stuffing/vomiting our faces off.

I'm having turrrble luck lately

I fell coming out of The Architect this weekend and twisted my foot

Still in for the race, just getting slower and slower by the day (if that's possible)

Prob better to try and meet up afterwards. It's gonna be hectic beforehand.

Also, I've got some sort of sharp pain in my gut for the past four weeks, right about where my appendix is. I went to the Dr. and it's not my appendix, though. This race is gonna be a hoot to run.

well i don't know about you but i hate standing around by myself waiting. so i'll be getting there about 30 minutes prior to the race, maybe earlier and if someone wants to chat before we gorge ourselves on donuts, shoot me a PM.

Veteran competitors, about how long did it take you to consume the donuts? I've honestly been slack in my running and I'm worried about not making it in under an hour, so trying to figure out a good pace that will leave me with enough time for the donuts.

I usually am 15 to 17 minutes each for the running legs, and 25 minutes for eating. I just eat one at a time, and am only going for the 1 hour target. 4 for 4!
