How in the hell are you gonna bring on Doomsday without Superman even being superman yet?
I know this show is supposed to be able superboy, or whatever, but damn, it's fuckin time to have superman show up. Anything less than a full episode dedicated to a full out brawl between Superman and Doomsday will be a complete travisty.
That being said...

Does anyone have a link to last week's episode? The tornado warning crap in Greensboro completely screwed up the episode. The CW's website sucks, plus it doesn't have full episodes of Smallville.
On a side note, when did tornado/storm warnings start talking over the TV instead of just streaming the written warning? 5/12/2008 11:03:43 AM |

Specter I wasn't as happy about this ending as I was last season with Bizarro. It might also have something to do with me not being too sure of next season with the way The CW handled the last "seasons" of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars. 5/19/2008 9:59:51 AM |

Quote : | "Smallville
Cast:
Tom Welling ... Clark Kent
Kristin Kreuk ... Lana Lang
Erica Durance ... Lois Lane
Allison Mack ... Chloe Sullivan
Sam Witwer ... Davis Bloome/Doomsday
Annette O'Toole ... Martha Kent
In a nutshell: The story of Superman begins in Smallville, where the young Clark Kent is coming to terms with his superhero identity. Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) was once his ally, but by the end of the seventh season was bent on destroying him.
Where it left us:Season seven saw several storylines tied up, as Brainiac (James Marsters) took control of Clark's cousin Kara (Laura Vandervoort) and left a vast swath of damage in his wake. He put Clark's crush Lana and friend Chloe into comas and assumed Kara's identity to reveal Clark's secret to Lex (#7.20, Arctic). Thanks to a twist in which Chloe, who had gained powers from a meteor, weakened Brainiac, Clark was able to destroy him. However, the real Kara remains trapped in the Phantom Zone. At the end of the episode Clark headed to Fortress of Solitude, where Lex was waiting for him. Clark's former pal used a device to bring the hero's arctic sanctuary down on both of them. This spelled Rosenbaum's departure from Smallville but opened the door for another significant villain from Superman lore: Doomsday. Played by Sam Witwer, Doomsday is the alter ego of David Bloome, a kindly paramedic. It has been widely speculated that season eight could be the show's last, giving the introduction of this character a special significance. Those familiar with Doomsday's role in Superman's story know it was he who killed the Man of Steel.

How the fuck are we going to do Doomsday on this fucking show?
I know! Let's basically combine Thor's human side with Hulk's monster side!
That's fucking brilliant, dude!
Hell yeah it is, let's go buttfuck each other now!

I just do not get the writers thoughts an philosophy on the show. Now way Doomsday fulfills his purpose without "superman."
You want to introduce the character, ok...introduce and let that be it. If Clark is not flying or wearing tights, then there should be no real Doomsday fight. Hell Clark still needs to learn to fight and use all his powers in conjuction with each other.
I will still be DVRing and watching tho...I just can't break myself away. Although with no Lex, I am not sure what to expect...its already got to be more 90210ish.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volcana_(DC_Comics)
Quote : | "As a teenager, Claire showed an aptitude for pyrokinesis -- the ability to start fires with one's mind. Her parents sent her to Metropolis's Center for Paranormal Studies so that she could learn to control and develop her power, but she was soon spirited away by government agents who had big plans for her. According to the director of the Center, the agents "stripped away her past, code-named her Volcana, and tried their hardest to turn her into a living weapon."" |

I hate how they brought in this new lady to "replace" Lex. Now that his character is gone from the show, I think they should've taken the focus on him out or at least limit the story regarding the search for him. I don't know why they felt the need to have a female version of him, because that's obviously what they are trying to do. 9/26/2008 2:55:37 PM |

I also wonder why the CEO of Luthorcorp hangs out in the Daily Planet building. I know that Luthorcorp owns the Daily Planet, but Luthorcorp owns like 50 other companies too, and their own actual building in Metropolis (where Lionel used to hang out all the time). 9/26/2008 5:05:16 PM |

It wasn't very good. The girl playing Maxima wasn't very good (looks or acting). I'm not sure how Maxima acts in the comics, but she's too one-dimensional in the show.
Of course, the show is reverting back to "freak" of the week this season.

If they had Maxima taking Clark back to her home planet and offering to marry him and rule her planet, that would've been a much better episode. I believe she's supposed to play a bigger role than the "random weekly person who Clark needs to stop".
