The guy legitimately hates Jews I think, which might be the biggest deal breaker for the gop. But I think we’re at the point where republicans don’t otherwise view being a Nazi as a dealbreaker.
Other than that He has a lot of debauch sex or sex fantasies, including of his wife’s sister, he likes transgender porn, he seems to understand how white people weaponize racism (which is a lil ironic since he’s a Nazi), hates Martin Luther king jr. (which will probably make some people like him more). The Ashley madison and adult friend finder accounts imply he’s been cheating a lot— does his wife know?
His fake Christian piety is not dissimilar from trump, I’m not sure if republicans care if he keeps using Christian language for his campaign, he’ll probably try to say he’s reformed or something
But the Nazi comment alone should make his staff resign if they want any jobs in the future that’s not working for pond scum. 9/19/2024 11:16:04 PM |

His comments and opinions all along should be disqualifying. But the level of stupidity it takes to use your real name and email address for these websites is a level of stupidity that is just mind boggling. Make up a name! Make up a separate email address for your freaky online shit. He is a complete bumbling idiot. I too cannot fathom how anybody would support him. 9/20/2024 8:15:47 AM |

^^ at those fools. You can go to the websites in question and view the posts... CNN has given more than enough info to find them. Then again, it's not like these are particularly sophisticated people, so the concept of "taking a screenshot of something to put it in a news article" might be beyond them...
^ Which is dumb. Just because it's been exposed, doesn't explain why it was used on sites 10 years ago, when this fool had never been heard of. 9/20/2024 12:14:31 PM |

Quote : | "Michele Morrow, the republican nominee to run the state’s public schools, wrote in a message to Republican groups in late September: “If we lose NC, we lose the White House and our future. Our children are being attacked. This is the American Revolution 2.0! We either willingly fight now, or we will be forced to fight on Nov 6th. This is war, ladies and gentlemen! Which side of history will you be on?”
The message was posted Sept. 30 on the Wake Forest Area Republican Club’s website and attributed to her. It drew attention from political opponents who have criticized Morrow for statements advocating for political violence" |
Quote : | "She sought to clarify in a statement to WRAL News on Thursday that she was speaking figuratively in the Sept. 30 message.
“I am in no way calling for violence of any sort,” Morrow said in the statement. "Parents feel like they are at war with the failing school system, and students who are bullied and beaten in schools also feel like their schools are a war zone. Our children are suffering and they need a superintendent that is going to fight for them, not cover up bullying, sexual assaults or violent attacks in our schools. My choice of words reflects how students and parents are feeling. This is the fight I’m referring to and this is the fight that I will continue whether I am elected superintendent or not."" |

I still don't know how the Dems won Governor, Lt Governor, Attorney General, NC Superintendent, etc but lost the Presidency again.
I get that Mark Robinson is a different story, but the overall trend is confusing.

^^The republican Governor and NC Superintendent candidates were uniquely awful. You already went over Mark Robinson, but Michelle Morrow was also pretty controversial (tweets about Obama and LGBT+, homeschooling her kids but wants to run the public education system, etc.)
Jeff Jackson for AG is pretty popular due exclusively to his digital outreach (reddit/instagram/tiktok). I'm not surprised the split tickets liked him over Dan Bishop.
The Lt Gov race? No clue. I feel like I'm more plugged into NC politics then your average split-ticket voter but to me this feels like your average R vs D. 11/7/2024 8:12:43 AM |

https://www.wral.com/story/nc-republicans-to-use-helene-aid-bill-to-strip-power-away-from-incoming-democratic-governor-ag/21729412/ One change would ban the attorney general from taking stances in court that don't align with the opinions of state legislative leaders. That would prevent the attorney general from arguing that any state laws are unconstitutional — something that has happened, though infrequently, in the past. Another major change would take away the governor’s power over elections starting in 2025, after Stein takes over for outgoing Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper.
GOP leaders have spent most of the past decade trying to take the governor’s power over elections for themselves, but their efforts so far have been thwarted — by state courts, and by voters.
The new proposal tries a different strategy: It would still take away the governor’s power but, instead of giving that power to the legislature, would give the power to a different executive branch official who’s a member of the Republican Party. If the new bill becomes law and survives an almost-certain lawsuit challenging its constitutionality, control over the State Board of Elections starting in 2025 would be taken away from Stein and given to new State Auditor Dave Boliek, a Republican.

11/19/2024 12:24:05 PM |

Quote : | "Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is reportedly considering signing Republicans’ massive “power grab” bill into law Wednesday while Gov. Roy Cooper is out of state. Cooper was in Washington, D.C., Wednesday to advocate for more hurricane relief funding for the state.
State law says that the lieutenant governor, which is Robinson, is in charge while the governor is out of state. WUNC's Colin Campbell reported Wednesday afternoon that Robinson was prepared to use his temporary power to push through the GOP's controversial bill.
It would be an astonishing move if he did, because Robinson, a Republican who got 800,000+ fewer votes than Democrat Josh Stein in the race for governor, would be signing into law a bill that Cooper would almost certainly veto.
Cooper would likely veto the bill because the Republican-controlled General Assembly is using a hurricane relief bill as cover to propose several unrelated provisions that take power away from the governor, attorney general, and other offices Democrats won control of in this month’s elections. The NC House passed the bill on Tuesday night after little public notice or debate, and the NC Senate passed it on Wednesday afternoon. Democratic members were not given a copy of the 131-page bill, which had been written in secret, until soon before they were expected to vote. Three House Republicans, however, voted against the bill, raising the possibility that it would not survive a veto from Cooper.
Robinson presided over the debate in the Senate Wednesday, through his duties as lieutenant governor, and when a Democratic senator pointed out that NC Democrats got more votes in the 2024 election than NC Republicans, the people in the gallery started applauding, Robinson ordered the gallery to be emptied." |
