I can't get into that chunky style of shoe at all personally but it really depends on each individual and the way they dress too. I have a slim frame and with the fitted chinos and jeans and dress pants I wear that style just would never work.I finally bit on these vans to wear as casual summer shoes. They work with just about every color of chinos and jeans I own (which is a lot for both ha)Also, I found this one pair of shoes that would be perfect for some of my summer chinos but then I realized it's an old picture of a style that isn't sold currently :/ I'll have to try and find something similar that I like as much:[Edited on May 31, 2014 at 12:12 PM. ^Those Vans are nice/versatile. I've been wanting these lately but I have enough summer shoes already:
5/31/2014 2:25:40 PM
I actually looked at those and liked them too. The problem I have personally with Vans is that the soles are a little thick on many of them so there are several of their shoes I have looked at in the past that look good on other people but just don't look good on me(out of proportion). The ones that I got above have a slightly thinner sole than normal for Vans and thus were in a little more in scale for me.I have really liked their nicer casual shoes lately though. They have quite a few that fit in the casual chic category for summer shoes.

I am still not convinced by the concept of buying shoes online (unless you have tried them on in a store).Anyway, so I ordered my first pair online... hope I like them in person and hope they are comfortable.Ordered 3 pairs of consecutive sizes, will send back 2 [Edited on August 17, 2014 at 2:25 AM. so what will it take to convince you? because that's basically what you do. order different sizes, send them all back. Zappos, Amazon, all the big shoe retailers offer free returns. It couldn't be any easier.

you should just get "hipster" tattooed on your forehead
4/21/2015 8:01:03 AM
^ Those aren't really that "hipster". I think vintage sneakers like that are pretty necessary when the weather gets hot and you don't want to wear (1) sandals and (2) nicer dress shoes...which is difficult if you're wearing shorts. They're the perfect in-between. Athletic shoes are for actual exercise these days. You might still be able to rock the grey New Balances...but that's about it. Vintage shoes like the thegoodlife3 posted are in for pretty much everyone...not just hipsters. Speaking of, my wifey just bought me these...and I'm trying to see if I can get them as an early bday present. Don't want to wait until the middle of July:I also went to the outlets and got some new dress shoes. My blacks and browns are pretty much worn out. Went to the Clark's store and they had a bogo 1/2 off deal. Nothing too fancy, but I can't justify spending too much coin on work/dress shoes...and Clarks are solid:Black:Brown:I should be done with shoes for a while.

^^ seriously?
4/21/2015 9:21:16 AM
Don't lie jbrick83 you dress like this in the summer
4/21/2015 10:06:57 AM
Besides the fact that I don't like them...my legs can't pull off short shorts.I'm also a strictly t-shirt guy...nice t-shirts...but t-shirts nonetheless. I'm normally anti-boat shoes...but the sis-in-law got me some comfortable Sanuks that I wear when I have to dress "nice" when we go out. Other than that...I'm 99% flip-flops once it breaks 65 degrees. I am excited about those Asics though.[Edited on April 21, 2015 at 10:12 AM. Reason : .]
4/21/2015 10:11:14 AM
T-shirts are for kids and fats. V-necks are far superior, but not the deeeeep V, those are for twinks. And I go Jerry Seinfeld and wear sneakers all year long. Never been a fan of the boat shoe movement.
4/21/2015 10:16:13 AM
V-necks are pretty much out now. I've still got a couple left, but you can't even find them in stores this season.[Edited on April 21, 2015 at 10:21 AM. Reason : this is now the jbrick and Slave fashion discussion]

can't decide if Ribs is a Fila guy, or a no-nonsense, white New Balance guyleaning towards white New Balances, since he's such a lunchpail, rise and grind kinda guy
4/21/2015 10:22:01 AM
You know he still rocks the gray 993's. Probably still has a pair of Sambas in his closet.V-necks are far from out. Maybe if you stopped shopping at Kohl's you'd realize that.
4/21/2015 10:28:16 AM
thought about Sambas, but he probably gave those up when Airwalks became a thinghe could be a casual FootJoy guy, though
4/21/2015 10:32:56 AM
4/21/2015 10:34:32 AM
hahahaha, dude is so un-stylish! His jeans probably aren't even skinny, and maybe have a few extra pockets. Probably wears white socks and adidas sandals. And t-shirts. T-SHIRTS!!!
4/21/2015 10:35:46 AM
so what are the "in" t-shirts these days? I've noticed solid pocket tees out in Express.
4/21/2015 10:36:46 AM
I walked into a J. Crew just last week and got 5 of them, they had a whole display with a least 20 colors. The check out girl was checking me out, but she had a thick southern accent, which I don't care for.I can see why'd you'd not like them. They generally have more room in the chest than regular T's, which is really only useful for men who can bench more than their wives.
4/21/2015 10:40:20 AM
Nice t-shirts (quality fabrics), regular and with pocket will always be in. V-necks are still okay, they just won't be on every single dude during the summer like you've seen in the past couple years (me included...I use to have like five I wore on rotation...I've probably got two left). And graphic tees will pretty much always be in, to an extent.T-shirts aren't difficult. Just get a good quality that fits you right.
4/21/2015 10:41:45 AM
You have to be kidding about graphic tees. Unless you're at a ballgame, at the gym, or have Downs Syndrome, they're pretty much unacceptable for anyone over 25.[Edited on April 21, 2015 at 10:45 AM. Reason : You calling me short is like Vlade Divac calling James Harden a flopper]

How bout tank tops? My gunzz aren't going to show off themselves.
4/21/2015 11:05:56 AM
I contemplated purchasing a tank top a couple years ago. I probably would have only worn it on the beach/boat or maybe to a beach bar...but the idea of wearing as little clothing as possible in 100 degree, humid heat definitely piqued my interest. But I think they're only made for men with eating disorders...because I was busting the seams on an XL when I tried them on. Just wasn't meant to be.[Edited on April 21, 2015 at 11:10 AM. Reason : .]

I doubt that. I outweigh you by 50 pounds and only wear medium or large depending on the brand. Either you're confused or you have nipples like AK bullets.
