k cause youve never come and fucked around in threads ive made. my bad, and it was a helpfull hint to weld it btw, a spool is the same thing as a weld, you can just take it in and out. eitherway a full lock for street use is just waiting for 9 point turn waiting to happen 8/6/2009 8:18:16 PM |

Quote : | "cant find a full spool for the 7.5" |
the 8.5 10 bolt is the smallest spool for c-clip axles, there has to be a hole to put the clips in and a 7.5 would be too weak, you gotta go with a mini spool, it'll hold up better than the pinion

if you didnt have a ragged out pussystang that actually had enough power to break it loose, it wouldn't be a problem

it's not even close you dumb mother fucker. a full spool eliminates the carrier/spider gears/side gears entirely. it also eliminates any inherent strength issues.
Quote : | "you can just take it in and out." |
oh, because you can't take a welded carrier out? we're not talking about your retarded ass that bird shits all over the gears, carrier, c clips, axles, cross shaft, and every other piece of metal in the differential.
Quote : | "eitherway a full lock for street use is just waiting for 9 point turn waiting to happen" |
again, NO. a spooled/welded rear has a negligible effect on turning radius, especially on a car with street tires. even with a heavy vehicle like a truck or something with sticky tires it's a non issue if you know how to keep on the gas a little though tight turns to help break the inside tire loose and keep it from pushing.

didnt have the money to put tires on the car every week from steering with the throttle. sorry

paerabol All American 17118 Posts user info edit post |
yep, the 12v. once i move and get my garage set up next month I'll start knocking out my punch list as I can afford it, including but not limited to 4k gsk/valve springs, afc springs, cold air, 100-150hp injectors, timing, new turbo kit, fuel pump tune etc...already has fuel plate, south bend clutch and 4" stainless exhaust. I'm thinkin once I get those new governor springs in there it'll shred. I'd like to pull out the particle filter and go straight-pipe too, but havent decided on that yet
wont pull on anyone building a drag truck but it'll be a good time
^^ thanks man, I agree. sucker roars when you get on it
I'll probably be hitting y'all up when I start tearing into it, and continuing to annoy the shit out of Jeepman for his wealth of cummins knowledge. i'll be moving to creedmoor/millbrook, anyone live out that way?

what I thought might have been a DPF (soot filter) is just a muffler.
gonna need help with timing, I hear those 12v motors like 16.5* sans head studs

what are those?
i was lookin at wheels, everything I find is too damn gay. I'd like essentially the same style that's on it, just solid alloy instead of factory simulators.. mean big boy rims, not flashy hood bullshit
and if i pop those gfx off I'll get some chrome rails to match. gonna repaint eventually anyway (flat black/brushed chrome wheels?), but all this is down the road. right now I'm only realistically interested in what's under the hood

what turbo you going with on that 12v? 6/28/2010 7:55:47 AM |
paerabol All American 17118 Posts user info edit post |
right now it's the stock hx35 but i was thinking that, rather than messing with the exhaust housing or worrying about having to machine the 35 for a larger compressor wheel, i'd just save up and swap it out for a used/rebuilt hx40 or s300g. might throw a boost elbow on in the meantime, but I doubt I'm gonna spend too much time/money on retooling the stock turbo 6/28/2010 11:32:15 AM |
Dr Pepper All American 3583 Posts user info edit post |
Are you familiar with "Smokem's" injectors?
http://www.southerndieselx.com/
SDXIII injectors & their "comp" delivery valves would be comparable to what you are wanting... but those are good up to about 600whp
with an S300G you'd be good with some 90hp injectors (SDXII) and the stock delivery valves.
If you are going to turn it up with the stock turbo, do yourself a favor and drill through the other volute on the exhaust housing (5/8") and then drill the main wastegate hole to 15/16". set the boost to 35psi and $profit
