sorry, the 226 is 9mm.

*edit* baonest is correct in my experience. Before I got my CCP I didn't need a friend and none of my friends that have gotten any in the past several months have either.

technically if its broken then its no good. like its been altered.

its getting a permit to buy a gun. so i would get a new one if i were you.

or you can just go up there and try with the broken one.

Would anyone here know how much a 'tommy gun' would be word, with the straight clip, not the drum. It's in great condition with the armstrap an everything. Just curious. I just inherited one.

prob like $20,000-30,000

look on gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com

if it's a real Thompson

and if so, i'd assume you need a Class III license to own it, even if you inherited it

Semi auto Tommy replicas are much more likely to be found, too.

I wouldn't want one though, my heart belongs to a Sterling L2A3. :o

How do you tell if it's a real or a replica? ^ I actually haven't come into possession of it yet, but i remember seeing it when i was younger, and now it's going to be mine.

If you can get a picture, throw it up on the High Road. http://www.thehighroad.org

Some of the old timers will be able to ID it for you in a hurry.

If not, you're going to have to get eyes on it soon, to look for the identification markings they'll tell you about.

if you are going to inherit this, please contact a lawyer and make sure things get squared away for you

it's a rare piece and has historic value, please don't let it get melted down

there was an article I read about a guy that had left his German machine gun that he had captured when he overtook a pillbox solo, at a library and they kept it in the basement

his heirs found it or something and wanted it for display since their forefather was a hero, now the gun is going to be melted down by ATF because of GCA1968

pretty much sucks, super rare piece, taken by the govt and melted down

And if it's an original full auto Thompson, it had better be registered with the Federal Government or the ATF will be contacting you.

I'd verify that it's legally registered before posting pictures of it anywhere.

I asked, It's Just a semi auto replica. I guess my grandpa worked for Paramount studios and they used it in some movies.

If you go the XD route, get it from Lawmen's. They're $418.99 there which is lower than most of the used ones you'll find. Unfortunately, their Glocks ($398) require LE identification. Having owned both a G26 and XD40SC (forgot, also an XD9 4"), they're all great but very different shooters so I'd try to rent both first. I know Davi's has them all and I believe PDHSC has the XD9 Service (4") and G19.

alright, thanks for the info, i went up to lawmens and pdhsc today to look at what they had. lawmens definately had the better prices. I'll probably go back to pdhsc later this week and rent the xd 9 4" and see what i think about it...

^^ requires LE creds to buy any Glock? Or just buy a Glock at LE pricing?

at the LE pricing, at least thats what the guy told me last week. I ended up w/ a beretta PX4 at about $90 cheaper than pdhsc w/ 3 magazines

and for me, they were much more helpful at lawmens

Thunder, I'm not sure anymore. I *think* they can only sell their new Glocks to LEOs as a result of Glock finding out about civilians buying there. They get a better price since they are an LE dealer so I *think* Glock wants them only selling to LEOs so that they don't end up making so much more than everyone else. However, if you know an LEO and you can legally buy a firearm, there's always the possibility that they can buy a Glock and end up "not liking it". Legally it's not a straw purchase. Ethically is your decision. Last time I was up there, they did have one that was white tagged (red tag = LEO only, white = anyone). It was slightly more if I recall correctly but it was the only one that I saw. I believe it was a G22.

As for transfer fee, I think PDHSC is cheaper by $5. I want to say PDHSC was $25 and Lawmen's was $30 although I'm not entirely positive. Somebody around here is $20 but I can't remember who it is anymore.

I'll probably go sunday, went to it on sat morning last time and nobody wanted to deal. normally cdnn or lawmens has better prices. I'm gonna try to pick up 1000+ rounds of 9mm for a good price. maybe a beat up auto 12 gauge if I can find one.

I'm plannin to pick up a mossberg 500.
Looking for good home defense and what-not. Looking like I can probly grab one with a pistol grip for about $180 or less I hope...
I'd LOVE to have another AR though. Need some .223 ammo. Will hopefully get a couple thousand rounds. My wish list is of course much longer than my financial backing...

Speaking of 9mm ammo. I've almost worn out my Lee press.

Anyone wanting to sell, or know anyone wanting to sell a dillon multi-stage press?
Would like to have a RL 550B or similar for a decent price...

Careful with the prices at the show. I typically go on Sundays and even then, the "deals" are often more than you can pick up stuff for locally.

As for ammo, I'd assume that Georgia Arms will have a booth again. I've had great success with their ammo (although 9mm isn't going to be much cheaper than WWB).

AR mags, maybe an upper if I can find a deal that beats Pete @ Legal Transfers... but I doubt that will happen.

YHM stuff, rail covers and some 1911 mags, P3AT mags...
