Currently painting my toesies with nail polish that changes from white irridescent to bright pink in the sun! It looked and worked great in the bottle, hope it does the same on my nails!

Before I leave work to head home, I just want to say that Target.com has some super cute flat sandals right now.

That is all

What kind of shoes do you guys wear with your maxi dresses? I have some wedges that I've paired with mine but I still feel like I look schlubby, like I'm wearing a night gown or something. I don't know how short girls pull them off at all.

^i have a similar question

i have this dress

its very gold and i think im gonna wear it to a wedding next weekend.
what shoes should i wear?

i have a pair of very strappy, somewhat understated gold heels with a little embelessment on the front (rhinestones)

do you think that would be good?

too much gold?

that's a tough decision. let's think about other options:

silver - no way
black - ew
brown - no
clear - hooker

if you had red shoes, I'd say that's a maybe. but it looks like your best bet is gold.

Teal or something I think would look cute with it. But also for a wedding I think the gold-gold combo is fine. It might be too much elsewhere but for some reason it seems like at a wedding it would be OK to be more matchy-matchy.

omg I want this dress too! Don't have the monies now though

I would think with that gold dress a dusty or pale blue color would look great. Like this:

Or if you wanted to do something a little more summery, a pale pink or even a hot pink could look really cute.

These could look really cute with that dress:

They're all pretty cheap at DSW.

I remember seeing some pale blue sandals at Target the other day that were only $10 too

I would keep it flat with a maxi dress.

They are pretty "hippy" like (if that makes sense) and so throwing on some pumps would just be odd. Now some cute espadrilles or wedges are always encouraged

Just stay casual with the shoe.

Joie...rock the gold strappy sandals!!!

Joie do something fun like a bright pink or a blue shoe with the gold dress. Even a nude color might work.

So I don't know if its just me but I left Express in Cary Towne Center feeling really bad about myself. They had some really cute dresses so I went to try them on. Problem is that the lighting is so bad in their dressing rooms I couldn't get over every single bump, mark, dimple, etc that it showed on my body. Never mind that it was so dark in the dressing room I couldn't even see how the dress looked on me fully. I ended up coming home and writing an email to their customer service. Im their typical medium sized client (size 8). I shouldn't have felt so insecure trying on their clothes. I was so disappointed that I left empty handed but I felt so bad about myself I just wanted to go home.

me and my roommate are the best! We had brunch today with sweet and savory crepes. The sweet fillings were strawberries, maple syrup, & homemade whipped cream. The savory filling was caramelized onions, hash browns, sharp cheddar, and thick cut bacon.

so classy!!!

Thanks darling it's just really frustrating. I would think clothing stores would want to invest in good lighting and mirrors. I'm interested to see what kind of response, if any, I get back.

I am still looking for fun dresses that are inexpensive. I liked the express ones because they were cotton.

and she pointed out things that i never would have though of ("omg my hip bone is poking out" etc) and it was just further proof that we are all our worst critics.

and yes btw i have bought many a thing from express in cary that look 10 times better than in the store

its weird for me to explain.

im probably gonna get it.

hate to say it Joie, but the ladies are right to talk you down from this! if you're really "super broke" then spending $138 on a shirt is NOT a good idea! you should at least sleep on it
