I would be sad to not have my same last name, but proud to be taking his last name at the same time. The sadness would be because I wouldn't have my Mama and Daddy's last name anymore, and the name I have had my whole life - but also because my name is awesome and sounds cool. But there would be no question, I would change my last name. It has nothing to do with property, but if you feel so strongly about it - then do what you see fit. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it, as long as you and your hubby can agree.

a friend pointed out something profound to me, recently. She pointed out how damn difficult (see: nearly impossible) it is to adopt (must have certain income, clear background, etc). On the flip side of the coin, any dumb fucking low-life who can barely afford to make rent can spit out kids whenever the fuck they want, and there's no penalty, aside from the one the kid will likely suffer for life.

Another reason I want to keep the boyfriend around is that he doesn't want kids, and knows he won't be able to talk me into changing my mind later. Sadly it's harder to find someone that doesn't want kids than you'd expect.

Finding guys that are okay with adoption vs. grow your own is hard enough. Maybe they forget that it stretches out the vajayjay and means they can't hit it for 6 weeks after the fact?

i want kids i think. i can't really decide. but they definitely aren't coming out of me. but also, on a not selfish note, there are plenty of kids already here (on this overpopulated earth) that need a family. therefore, if i decide that i want kids, i will adopt.

Easy. Get your tubes tied and reversal is more expensive than adoption. Also makes a clear statement about your stand on having kids to any guys that think they might be able to change your mind later.

To have your tubes tied at 24 you do have to have some medical issues that'd cause retarded kids if not carefully managed and some bad genes though.
