To be fair, AOC will tweet something that forces them to.

I can not believe that until last fall I was a registered as Republican (even though the last R pres I voted for was Bush over Kerry).

Yeah right. With one or two POSSIBLE exceptions, I'm further away from being republican than anyone on this site. Take a political compass test.

Is it really necessary to show up armed and wearing tactical gear to a COVID-19 protest?

This last post in this thread is a nice summation of standard gop view of the world. People are just fat to cut to bump the profits a few % points. A nice silver lining....

Seems egregious that trump can try to force open meat plants that were closed because of worker safety issues. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. This is forced servitude.

Of course McConnell wants to block the ability of workers to file suit if subject to dangerous conditions when being forced back to work. These people are inhuman.

This is hideously dangerous (and ignores all reality of the lead up to the 2016 election — just a bananas re-writer of what we all saw with our eyes).

Also, what ever happened to the fact that Jordan turned a blind eye to wrestlers being sexually molested?

Its only going to get 10x more intense when Trump loses and they all blame the loss on Biden-China collusion and do the same thing but with more power, force, and overall disregard.

Barr moves to squash insider trading probes:

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/19/doj-centralizes-control-of-sensitive-insider-trading-probes-269914

This is really powerful leverage over burr for Trump.

I just realized this is why Trump is pushing obamagate now. If he can get idiots to believe Obama was orchestrating this massive polticiization of the government agencies, it seems less strange to the average person when trump does it.

I’m not sure it’s illegal as guy suggests, but it’s definitely the peak of irresponsibility. He’s right to be pissed to the extreme.

I’ve really started to internalize the fact that a Republican politician, and at least some of their nutjob followers, will gladly cut my throat if it profits them financially or politically.

Depending on the results of the election, I could see it going either way. Trump wins reelection? Cotton/Trump Jr are the new voice of the part. Biden wins and it's not close? Romney/Mcmullin/Amash are.

Obviously I'd prefer Romney/McMullin of that choice

The Dem party is prob too shit to pull this off, but if Trump loses the Dems should work there asses off to be sure they can't untie themselves from Trump. No quick friendly reconciliations for bipartisanship or whatever.

I mean, there are some members, few and far between, who have distanced themselves from Trump.

Like, I have problems with the positions of Amash, Romney, Kasich, Charlie Baker, etc, but I don't think Dems should necessarily try to pin them to Trump.

praises peaceful demonstrators but hits uneven respect for the 1st Amendment:

"Free speech, free assembly, and the free exercise of religion are all First Amendment rights. They have the same constitutional pedigree. But apparently while protests are now permissible, prayer is still too dangerous."

I mean, he has a point. The lack of consistency among the local leadership has been inconsistent, at best.

Highly recommend folks tune into the Judiciary cmte meeting to watch dipshit Republicans melting down. They’re really putting their petulance on display.

Louie Gohmert is just banging on his desk trying to interrupt witnesses. Dumb as a fucking brick. Doug Collins whining every second.

Just so sad these pieces of shit keep getting sent back to Congress.
