No way. You gotta keep Googs. I think he was our last NBA All-Star.

Also, from his wikipedia page:
Quote :
"On December 17, 1999, Gugliotta had a near-death experience. Having trouble sleeping after games, Gugliotta took a supplement marketed as a "sleep aid" which included furanon di-hydro, also known as gamma butyrolactone, or GBL. Gugliotta was talking to his wife, Nikki, on his cellular telephone when he collapsed and stopped breathing. His wife heard the commotion and called the wife of teammate Rex Chapman who was able to call her husband on the bus and instruct him to check his bag for the supplement bottle. The information saved his life as doctors were able to give him an antidote in the emergency room moments later.["

"I think if you're showing that video to recruits, you leave out Gugliotta and Fuller and just put in clips of more recent athletes dunking on people (Damon Thornton on Maryland, Bennerman on Shelden, etc.).

There is no possibly benefit to showing a 16/17 y/o recruit a short clip of Fuller and Gugliotta play (unless you maybe put a blurb about Fuller being a lottery pick)."

yeah dont leave out Guggliotta. The guy was an NBA allstar, picked #6 in the draft, and was on NBA FUCKING JAM.

I mean damn. Leaving out a dude on Jam? You realize that's like 1 of 57* people in the entire world who can say they made the original.

* Barkley was on some versions and Majerle on others due to legal issues

Stanford, Indiana, Syracuse, and possibly Texas...I like it. Even if those teams are gangbusters this year...at least they are "name" teams.

screwed again by the ACC by playing Duke only once in an away game

Interesting though that we're playing several major conferences

SEC, Big 10, Big East, Pac 12, Atlantic 10, Ohio Valley, etc.

Its a blessing to only play duke once but you're right that it seems we only play them away whenever its not the home and home.

That is a strong schedule compared to recent typical NC State schedules. I see us getting rolled in all of our tough OOC games except maybe IU and us finishing 8-8 or 7-9 in the ACC. Depends on what type of teams Miami, BC, and GT have this year.

^ We may sell more season ticketa than the total capacity of Reynolds, so I doubt they will be included.

Missed this earlier...

I don't think there are 22 year olds that have played NBA Jam....16/17/18 year olds probably don't even know what the fuck it is.

I'm just saying...if you're showing this video to an upcoming recruit, having those guys in the video is no benefit unless you at least run their accomplishments underneath it (NBA accomplishments...for that reason, take Fuller completely out except for his Draft position).

Leave them in the video for the fan...take them out for the recruits and show dunking instead.

if youre showing that video to recruits I'm pretty sure they already zoned out during the 3 minutes of old white people talking about the 50s at the start

i know a lot of ball players that are just as interested in the history of the game as they are with the present day. if you truly love the game, you don't need a lot of flash and flare to keep you interested, you just care about what's real.

"Tennessee is in discussions with Atlantic Coast Conference schools Wake Forest, Virginia and North Carolina State for future home-and-home men's basketball series.

UT coach Cuonzo Martin said Thursday negotiations are in the early stages, with the Demon Deacons possibly coming to Knoxville next season and the Vols looking to travel to play the Cavaliers.

Martin said when he was named coach in March that he intended for UT to maintain one of the best schedules in the SEC.

Tennessee director of broadcasting Bob Kesling jokingly asked Martin at Tuesday's Knoxville Rotary Club gathering if he would have accepted UT's offer had he known in advance how tough the schedule would be this season.

The Vols play Duke and either Michigan or Memphis in the Maui Invitational in November, and they also have games against defending national champion Connecticut, Big East heavyweight Pittsburgh and road trips to Memphis and mid-majors College of Charleston and Oakland.

"If we had this schedule next season, that would be fine,'' Martin said Tuesday. "But we have a lot of new guys that are still getting used to me and learning what I expect, so this will be a challenge. But it's good for the players, because they are excited about it, and they should be.''"

I hope our jerseys are as pixelated as advertised.

Hopefully scheduling a home-and-home with Tennessee is easier in basketball than in football. Haven't we had them on our schedule for years now or did they buy us out?
