I honestly don't think so. To me, it just seems like that girl had a bad date / bad sexual encounter, and later regretted it. Bad dates and bad sexual encounters happen without the dude being a sexual harasser.

I'm also not 100% sure why that girl didn't leave his apartment if she felt so uncomfortable.

How so? From what I read, they hooked up and gave each other head. Then he tried to fuck (multiple times) but never did because she said she didn't want to.

Tiny little Aziz doesn't seem quite capable of physically keeping her in his apartment. Apparently she was just hanging out naked in his place. It didn't appear from the article that he was threatening her job or career or anything. It just seemed sounded like a bad date.

People will stay in a situation where they feel pressured or coerced just to avoid a potentially harmful escalation.

Maybe you should try actually reading the story and, you know, taking what the woman said at face value. Ansari confirmed her story and apologized, you know. I mean, she literally said:

Quote :
"It took a really long time for me to validate this as sexual assault. I was debating if this was an awkward sexual experience or sexual assault. And that's why I confronted so many of my friends and listened to what they had to say, because I wanted validation that it was actually bad."

I don't know what the dude's size has to do with anything. Plenty of little dudes have done awful things to women you might judge their equals (or stronger, taller, whatever).

You don't have to do something improper to apologize to someone you have hurt or offended.

If I told a joke about penguins and someone started crying because their family was murdered by penguins I would apologize to them, but that wouldn't be an admission of guilt.

There are a lot of helpful things people can learn from this story. Maybe highlighting this encounter can inform both men and women that we need more and clearer communication.

But it's not something that should cause him to lose his career or even his show.

Aziz kept trying to fuck her and finger her after she said no multiple times. That’s not a bad date.

[Edited on January 16, 2018 at 5:12 PM. Reason : Much worse than a bad date]

That is an absolutely true statement... and that very well may have been what happened here to Grace. However, I didn't necessarily get this impression from the article that that's what happened. Hell, the lady at some point definitely felt confident enough to say "this is getting too weird.
I'm calling an Uber to leave". Given, I'm sure it's nearly impossible to judge the mood of the room unless you were there (...and apparently even if you were there, you might have read the situation differently). It really sounded like Aziz was a pushy little bastard, with no game, that was willing to take his advances as far as he could until he was actually told 'NO'.

Meh, I read it. Though admittedly, I didn't study the details before posting. There were many parts of the story describing Aziz's behavior that I would describe as being all kinds of fucked up. And I absolutely believe what Grace said happened in her story, and believe that she felt the things that she felt (or eventually began to realize that she felt later). Grace also has every right to change her mind about any sexual encounter, even if she's in the middle of it. It's just weird as all hell to put your date's dick in your mouth, and lounge around his apartment naked, and expect the nonverbal signal you are trying to convey to be 'I'm not interested in anything sexual right now'.
Could you link me to Aziz's apology? I'm only seeing where he says he's sad to hear how she felt, and it wasn't his intention to make her feel that way.

True. But again, within the context of this article, it wasn't apparent to me that Aziz was using his size to physically force her to do anything.

I mean...are you saying she’s lying? Sure that’s possible. All we really have to go on his her account which was also corroborated by what she told her friends/roommate immediately after.

No, I am not saying that she's lying. I'm saying that her non verbal cues for Aziz to stop also seemed to be followed by her nonverbal cues of sucking his dick. And her verbal cues seemed to be along the lines of 'lets slow down and chill for a bit'.

People are going to need notarized sexual consent forms by 2019.

at some point this all gets a bit ridiculous and its hard to separate sexual shyness from no. Once sexual acts have begun, I don't know how to stop unless you specifically say "stop", "no", or "i don't want to have sex". "We're moving to fast" or "lets chill for a while" are a bit too vague and can easily be interpreted as a need for more foreplay.

ridiculous story: During the movie she was removing his hand from her panty line but after the movie, he invited her to his bed, she removed her clothes and got in began kissing then he tried to fuck her and got accused of sexual assault.

theres no victim blaming but there is such thing as boundaries and you should not let people cross boundaries if you aren't looking for sex. hand stuff, and being in bed with them naked are indicators that you are ready for sex. saying "i dont want to have sex" is an indicator that you are not. am i wrong?

I don't care for him as a comedian, but he's getting railroaded.

Chick needs to GTFO herself. Regret ? Sexual Assault.

When I was single 15+ years ago, guilt and shame were part of my game.

Railroaded? A former fan shared her experience with him in what sounds an awful lot like sexual assault or at least borders on it. Nobody’s saying he’s some predatory, serial rapist. I think we all understand there are degrees to this. His behavior, as described by her, seems fucked up to me.

Seems like we could use some specific terms to describe various things, instead of putting what happened in this article, and something like forceful rape, as both under the blanket of "sexual assault"

gotta love some good old fashioned victim blaming!

Quote :
"The lead defense attorney in Harvey Weinstein's rape and sexual assault trial said in an interview that she has never been sexually assaulted "because I would never put myself in that position."

In an interview Friday on The Daily podcast, Donna Rotunno, was asked whether she had ever been the victim of a sexual assault.
"I have not because I would never put myself in that position," she said on the New York Times podcast. "I've always made choices from college age on where I never drank too much. I never went home with someone that I didn't know. I just never put myself in any vulnerable circumstances ever.""

Quote :
""Do you believe every woman who's been sexually assaulted somehow put herself in that position -- whether it was having drinks or agreeing to go to a hotel room?" asked New York Times reporter Megan Twohey, co-author of "She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement."
"Absolutely not but just as we make smart decisions when we walk out on the street at night, I think you have to make the same decision when your putting yourself in circumstances with other people," Rotunno added.
"When we walk out at night we look around, we make sure we have our phone, some people take mace. We take precautions. All I'm saying is women should take precautions.""

Asking jurors to look at Harvey Weinsteins deformed penis is cruel and unusual punishment.. for the jurors. Don’t get me wrong I know justice isn’t always pretty and if 60 women have accused him he’s likely guilty of at least one count. But if I was asked to look at that pigs penis in order to prove him guilty I’d be held in contempt and take the jail visit.
