Happy as hell that the Braves have a 7 game lead, but also realize they play in arguably the worst division in baseball so far this year (AL Central sucks too). Can't believe how strong the AL East is again and the NL West is very deep.

^NL Central is deep at the moment too until the Pirates do their usual 2nd half dive. If the Braves were in the Central before last night, they would have been in 4th place....eek

God, Dan Uggla is a waste of space out there in the field. Good thing he's top notch on offense...

Sadly, the Braves have left 5 runners on base the last 2 innings. I feel like that was their chance...luckily, the Pirates aren't exactly killing it at the plate.

finally, someone gets the big hit. Good job Andrelton...Braves Bullpen >>>> Pirates bullpen tonight

The "strugglers" so far this season really came through tonight. Uggla was 2-3 with 2 walks, BJ with the big 2 run homer, Heyward was 2-4

Braves starting to get a little bit out of BJ Upton is big. Heyward is bound to come around and last night was good to see. Uggla just sucks ass and probably will hit .180 regardless.

"@Proud2bApstolic: if the Royals trade Santana what might they be looking for in return?

They’d be looking to fill a hole with a long-term solution. My guess is their preference would be to acquire a corner outfielder with a run-production bat. A second baseman is another possibility.

might be a trade partner. we could send them uggla, and in return, they can keep santana. win-win

it's a pipe dream to think we'd ship out Uggla for anything. He's Fredi's pet and he's not going anywhere unfortunately. and guys like Romero Pena who could actually help the team will suffer because of it.

Uggla is untradeable due to his contract moreso than any kind of Fredi-Uggla man love scenario. If Wren wants to move Uggla and gets a reasonable offer (i.e. mid level prospect and only having to pay say half of Uggla's remaining salary), then it won't matter if Fredi likes Uggla or not.

Teheran goes 7 2/3 no hit. Joe Simpson mentioned that he hadn't given up a hit at the beginning of the inning, and bam...gives one up to a pinch hitter.

Gattis and Laird went back to back in the 6th

GG to Teheran. Dude is starting to finally get it. Gattis with his 13th HR in only 148 ABs (per the AJC). He could hit 40 if he gets the ABs. Swept a good Pirates team and completed an awesome homestand. GG to the whole team.

Braves continue to struggle on the road. Yesterday's game was somewhat understandable though since they had no off day and had to travel from ATL to LA. Plus it's not like Grienke sucks even though he has sucked this year.

^growth process for Teheran. Sucks that it came against this crappy San Diego offense though.

2 hit games for the Uptons and J-Hey with a bomb. Nice to see our struggling batters coming around as of late.

holy shit balls, things just went crazy in the 9th. I look away for a second, and Evan Gattis does his usual pinch hit 3 run homer, then heyward goes yicketty again to bring it to 7-6. If Gearrin didn't suck, the Braves could have had a 6-5 lead at this point.

Comeback thwarted...Evan Gattis amazes me. Its well past time for this to be a "fluke".

Also, just noticed that Laird didn't catch Teheran for the first time tonight. Could be why he "struggled"

Yeah Justin Upton has plain sucked for about 4-5 weeks now. At least some of the other guys are hitting better. Hate when we lose to shit teams, but Braves are still looking good in the East.
