GSW has multiple titles that came directly from injuries to other teams.

Not sure why GSW fans are getting upset that it's going against them for the first time in this run.

If Toronto wins, it'll be no different than GSW beating Cleveland without Kyrie and Love. It'll be a title and no one will really care who did or didn't play in 6 months.

Hoping Toronto close out at home tonight, that arena is going to be deafening and that city is going to be crazy for the game.

exactly.

injuries and health obviously play a role in how teams perform. it doesn't negate the validity of a championship.

So the fact that the Ws are not playing healthy is not up for debate. If the Raptors win (looking pretty damn likely!), good for them. The team and fans won’t give a shit how they did it, but because people will literally argue about anything, some people will definitely call them “lucky” for not playing a full strength team. I’m not one of those people though, so sorry we won’t have anything to argue about

Perhaps, but you did imply that the Warriors would be winning if they were at full strength

KAWHI means CUTE in Japanese. His parents gave him a good first name. It helps a lot.

These line moves are funny, but not very surprising. How does TO gameplan for something like this?

I just can't really remember a series where a player so important made a last minute, game 5 starting appearance. I mean I'm sure TO knew it was a possibility all along, but seeing how Vegas is reacting is funny to me.

Vegas knows people are going to be more likely to pick our Dubs if KD is playing

also the lack of a "." in T.O was throwing me off

I've heard T-dot O-dot for the city, as in Toronto Ontario. But the dots are important.

Yea for the city I suppose but I would bet 99% of time, if not more the raptors are TOR. I think that's their official abbreviation too.

Strained Achilles for sure for Durant, possibly even partially or fully tore it.

Pretty sure it was his Achilles the first time and they just claimed it as a calf strain. Probably a partial tear or something originally that would end up requiring surgery anyways.

Dubs went on a run and then got lots of fouls called against them. Refs will not allow a blowout.

^ it got extremely loud as soon as KD went down. Although, fans could have been cheering for a TOR steal tho

to me, it got loud right after the steal, when most fans were paying attention to the live ball action, and got really loud once durant got up and started limping off

i'm sure there were a few "i killed your grandfather" types in a 20k+ person crowd, but i think Van Gundy blew it out of proportion

Full disclosure: I was listening to the game on the radio coming home from work and to me it sounded like a bunch of T.O ejaculating with joy that KD got hurt. But I’m a delusional Dubs homer and soon to be Raptors fan 4 lyfe.

looks like at least one asshole waving goodbye to him, but from a pure volume standpoint, the crowd isn't noticeably louder during the time KD is on the floor

should the crowd have fallen silent when durant went down? keep acting like 20,000 fans were chanting "fuck durant" though

try being specific in what you disagree with. vagueness isn't a good trait when you're trying to argue a point.

White dress/blue dress. People see what they see, or what they want to see

Kinda fucked up and nasty and gross people can be about a damn basketball game: Ws owner shoving a player and Raptors fans cheering an injury

It's pretty clear.
1. Initial reaction: (majority of crowd) yayyy, their star player got hurt, byeee
2. Players from both teams shake their heads at fans being dicks
3. KD gets help and fans have a change of heart: yayy, he is able to hobble at least and isn't completely broken

there was nothing to cheer for after the whistle blew yet they kept cheering

the majority of people in the stands weren't cheering, they were just looking. and the very initial volume increase was because of a steal and fast break opportunity, not because durant went down.

i'm not arguing there weren't some asshole fans, but i'm not going to paint the entire crowd in one light because of a small minority of assholes.

so all muh dubs have to do to win the series is continue shooting ~50% from 3 while holding to to 25%. and we'll win by 1 every game!

Looks like an achilles injury for KD. Judging from the closeups, I would bet on it being a full rupture. Pretty awful to see that happen to a superstar in their prime.

His minutes may have won the Warriors the game, possibly even the series depending on how things play out, but at a heavy cost.
