Don’t know much about any of these 3 recent commits, but Joseph Johnson has an impressive offer list. UF, FSU, Penn State, VT....not sure if they were serious contenders or not.

^^most considered penn state to be the biggest threat. He took a visit up there and announced them as his leader, i think. Then he visited here, again, and committed. Prolly a guy that will have to be recruited to the very end and will likely get some recruiting bumps along the way. Hes another in a long line of guys the staff got on early

Joseph Johnson seems to be all-in, his father is 110% on NC State. Even when his son was tweeting things about Penn State or other schools, his father kept posting NC State stuff and posting things suggesting he hoped his son would realize the best place for him was NC State. It was really odd but I'm fine with having his family all-in on the school.

Think Johnson has already started recruiting for us.

I certainly wore some suspect stuff in HS. Lets give the kid a break.

Said break shall not include that necklace

Oh look, Clemson got another 5 star recruit. I can't believe we aren't keeping up with them on the recruiting front!!! Fire Doeren!

Landing Kaba would be pretty big, apparently the top LB on our board. I actually like the kid is playing everything so close to the vest, NC State, UofSC, and even UNC all seem to think they have a shot.

Going to be a bit disappointed if we miss on Moose(mainly if he were to pick UNC) but I'm not expecting us to land Evans.

^Got his 4th star and bigger offers came rolling in. Guessing with Doeren's new stance on not allowing kids to take visits while committed(thanks Miller and Griffin), with Johnson landing offers from the likes of tOSU lately, guessing he wants to see new offers come in and then take visits.

I bet we'll stay on him, but I do think he's going to be a 4-5 OV guy, now to just see if we get one. Think this is going to be a common thing with our staff.

Kaba and Simpson were 3* LBs when we started recruiting, now both are 4*.
Austin Blaske was a 3* OT with a couple of P5 offers and last week he just got bumped up to a 4* after a really impressive camp performance and now he's landing SEC offers.

Our staff is really good at identifying talent and I believe other schools/analysts are really paying attention to this. I mean look at Ledford, that cat is offering every OL we offer like a week later.

Ledford is offering the same players because he's also known about them since he helped discover them.

^Then why does he consistently wait until after we offer these kids to offer them? He knows about them the same amount of time as us but consistently needs an extra week to decide they deserve an offer?

Look at Sean Hill. I'm not even sure we were scouting him when Ledford was here. He visited in March, we offered late April and Louisville offers this week. Could be a coincidence, but I do think other schools pay attention to who we offer, esp given our run on putting guys in the league and identifying talent.

Prolly because ledford knows that our staff/doeren are damn good at finding talent. He sees we offer a kid, checks them out, sees theyre worthy and then offers.

yes, ledford got to where he is by just hanging out on twitter/recruiting websites and just offering kids who other programs recruit.

^I think it would actually be smarter to identify the teams that are good at scouting players and look at the guys they offer.

Much better than some former big-named HCs that strictly looked at recruiting website rankings when offering kids.

Perhaps it's PURELY coincidental, but UL has been offering a lot of OL right after we have this recruiting cycle. But it's also worth nothing we've offered just over 20 OL this year and they've offered close to 70.

Moose's commitment video kinda stung because he showed multiple teams before picking A&M and NC State wasn't even on the list.

That being said, we have visitors scheduled for this week and then next weekend, so hopefully we'll land some guys. Wouldn't be surprised to see a DT and WR commitment this week.

I didnt have a good feeling about Moose 3. IDK if it was a leftover bad taste from the Moss kid or just the amount of hype made him look like an attention whore or what, but I kinda didnt want him.

Yea i know there were caveats, but if you're gonna say something like that, say it early in the recruitment not the day we lose the recruit. Otherwise it just comes off as sour grapes.

I'd be fine with never recruiting the sons of former NFL players. We have had quite a few in recent history and none of them have stuck around long enough to contribute.

I 100% wanted Moose. Think having him and Rooks would likely have landed us that 4* QB on their 7-on-7 squad in the 2021 class.

Moose on social media is a LOT less worrisome than Josh Downs or Antonio Barber. Those 2 kids looooove recruiting and the attention. That being said, I'd still take Josh Downs and Moose. Not really sure I'd waste the scholarship on Barber.

I think it's more worrisome that you keep up with a bunch of kids social media accounts, but that's none of my business.

To be fair I don't actually follow any players social media accounts, the problem is I follow various NC State publication twitter accounts and they share/like a bunch of stuff so I'm exposed to it.

The reality of it is that I think tweeting and recruits is really odd/creepy and I would never do it. But in the same vein, I understand that the kids love it and it actually works.

^same here. The fact that grown adults grovel over 16,17 year old kids on social media is sickening. Same goes for the ones that just talk shit to them when they dont pick their school. Its gross and those people have 12 brain cells. But theyre 16 year old kids so of course the attention from those brain cell short morons means something

Never tweet at recruits.

You wanna follow recruiting? Cool!

You don’t wanna follow recruiting? Also cool!

Either way. Don’t tweet at em or comment on their posts. It’s weird.
