I'm not doing all the stupid shit like pet battles, but the gameplay is a lot more fun and they put a lot of work into the quests/dungeons. MUCH better than Cata

^^Many classes are completely different. Warlocks, for instance, have new resources based on their tree and is not so much a set rotation anymore.

it makes sense all those subs would be gone for Q2 since no one cares to play this stale content anymore. I really hope they fix the epic fail of cataclysm with pandaria, as one more fail will probably cause a more permanent drop in subs.

i'm always so surprised to see how strong this game is still going.

i tried it back in 2009 and didn't think it was anything to write home about. my biggest complaint was that it was very tough to find people to play with. by the time i tried it, pretty much everyone still playing was doing endgame stuff, i'm guessing. i bet it was awesome when it was new and all the areas were full.

The drop in subs is not surprising. A good portion can probably be attributed to Diablo 3. The big test will be the sub increase when Mists drops.

Got banned for "hacking" because of an add-on that I had no clue was illegal. Going to try to fight it but not sure what will happen. Anyone have a 85 warrior/pally horde-side that they want to sell/give away?

My account was permanently locked years ago and can only be restored if I send them a money order for WoLK...

Quit during TBC, years later I find out my account was being used by Gold Farmers who bought the expansion on it and paid for a realm transfer. They had apparently compromised my youtube account where I had raid videos hosted. Realizing this, I had a mod revert the account back to the state it was in when I quit during TBC and had the password changed... but they left WoLK on it. Gold farmers withdrew their payment on the account (possibly a stolen credit card) and I was stuck with a negative balance because of the WoLK upgrade I didn't want in the first place. Idiot GMs wouldn't remove the game from my account even with complete records of the takeover... Doesn't bother me to much, have no desire to ever return.

I just found out i'll be staying at a place without internet indefinitely on the same week MoP comes out and i'm thinking i'll use that as an excuse to not buy the game and never play wow again. So I got my free trial time. The changes are just...sad. So very sad. It's been streamlined and dumb-ed down; I missed the variety of all the spells, cc/counter-cc. I didn't miss the realms of trolls.

I completely agree.

first two weeks of cata release I would instant afk HM : Vortex Pinnacle or Stonecore unless I was in a group with my pve allstar friends.

HM's in MoP are more interesting as a whole and while harder than normals aren't unacceptably hard.

BTW the new deathmatch battleground is the greatest thing to ever happen to WoW ...

that's exactly what I've wanted since the game released.

So i was playing non-stop since mop release. I got my warrior to ilvl 476, and had 4/6 down in MSV. Revered with 3 of the mop factions (gl, klaxxi, shado-pan). Got my lock to halfway thru 86, and even leveled a 61 monk. At this point I had been averaging about 8 hours a day of playing.

I had just gotten done with not winning jack shit from LFR again, and then getting talked down to like a 6 year old by my "guild master" because i was too mean to people while leading a normal raid. This triggered a hyper-intense burnout that caused me to vendor all the gear on all my characters, sent the gold to my friend (100k) and deleted my characters 1 by 1. (Had this account since december 2009, warrior had 75 days played or so.)

Needless to say i think i'm done forever.

Playing too much has always lead to me detesting any game in the past. I have (only recently in my old age) adopted the mindset of playing games like these at a super casual pace, in a super casual guild. Playing for hours on end each day and pushing for towards a goal that is only going to get reset with the next content patch/expansion only serves to burn me out over and over.

Playing for the enjoyment of doing small, comparatively meaningless, goals like having fun with some friends in battlegrounds or heroics has proven much more fruitful for me.
