State is some kind of weird mix between corps style and show band...regardless, saying one style is completely superior than another is idiotic...there are plenty of show bands that are godawful, and plenty of corps style that are highly entertaining. Check out Western Carolina sometime and tell me they suck.

Its certainly not pure corp but the high school I went to was pure show and growing up all the events I saw went to were pretty much pure show style (A&T homecoming parade etc) so when I look at it I see corp.

Its true you don't want any band corp or show sounding terrible but music being equal I'd take show every time cause corp is just boring as hell.

The stuff about Yow responding so quickly is pretty damn cool. Regardless if you think she is doing this to gain approval or not, it is awesome that she takes time to respond.

People in positions like her spend so much time in meetings and on calls that emails are often neglected. I guess it's possible she could have a couple admin types responding for her too, but either way it is a reflection of her management skills and how she is the polar opposite of old foul-up.

This is weird and stupid. We didn't have a talented SG in our back pocket that we passed on to take Purvis. And we're already well under the scholarship limit, so it's not a wasted scholarship at all.

It's really not that black and white.

I'm sure we put quite a bit of resources into recruiting him. Resources that could've been allocated somewhere else. Also, knowing we were in good standing with him could certainly have made other SG prospects look else where.

And I think there's still a good chance he gets cleared before practice even starts, which makes all this bitching completely and utterly irrelevant. If he can't play this season and if we end up being shitty because of it maybe you can make case the staff should have reallocated their resources to recruit other SGs, but that's a lot of hypotheticals you're assuming are true just to be able to criticize the athletic department and coaching staff.

Aren't the 'after' pictures from the Dail Basketball Center and soccer stadium ones from after Yow has been here though? The money may have been there from Fowler, but I thought the renovations of each of those 2 sites were during the Yow era. Also IIRC the tennis stadium had to be redone because the first time Fowler's department renovated it they built it ontop of a landfill and the courts had begun to deteriorate.
