It really didn't work for Biden, tho. He ran 4 years later, and would have faced no real chance against Hillary in 2016 anyway. He only had a shot in 2020 because the rest of the field was generally ridiculous, Pete notwithstanding.

This is pretty interesting. Kinda portends what a lot of ppl have been saying about an emerging third party with sane republicans increasingly splitting from MAGA republicans

Time will tell if they just vote with democrats more, pull more democrats to the center or split off with right-leaning democrats for an explicit 3rd party

Gotta give the Dems negative credibility at this point for failing to read the room on grandpa Joe's age and having literally no one waiting in the wings. It was obvious 4 years ago that the country as a whole wasn't buying the far left loons' positions, yet the Dems have done nothing to move to the middle, despite being forced to pick a centrist candidate. We are now highly likely looking at a Trump takeover of the country because they couldn't see that the country didn't want their left wing lunacy.
