This was my point, but fuck if i don't get all the TWW Raleighwood "upper crust" breathing down my neck because I don't like people who walk around like their shit don't stink

it amazes me that it took homegirl so long to open a place that offers so very goddamned little for way too goddamned much

and i mean, since you wanna go there... I was the only person of color in the place. that's pretty telling of the quality for value for a fried chicken shop, I think. Since we're playing to racial stereotypes and all. Hell, I should've asked them why they didn't have watermelon on the menu.

but really, why are you of all people even commenting? You can't smell, so you can't taste. I'm surely going to trust the jewish cat that thinks everything tastes like cardboard. I could literally shit on a plate, and you'd swear it was gold if it came from this place. Your entire commentary ITT is null and void.

seven dollars and fifty fucking cents

you pay more than that for a regular sub at Jersey Mikes

shit I'm sure a fucking Baconator at Wendy's is probably close to that price point.

I can find a family reunion / AME church fundraiser / etc and attend for $5 a plate and am almost guaranteed to get some good fucking chicken (provided it's not from Smithfield's or some shit)

wow and save a whole $2.50!!!!

Id say that $2.50 is worth the atmosphere of eating at a downtown restaurant as opposed to eating by yourself in a church parking lot out of a styrofoam container

^^^And that's why I haven't eaten at Beasley's.

I'd take a church parking lot over a downtown restaurant any day.

Eating with people of my choosing with some cheap, clandestine beer and smoking whenever I want is kind of my jam.

Y'all don't know atmosphere.

I'm not trying to troll. I'm genuinely curious. Like were you expecting it to be like Bojangles with a 3-piece meal, 8-piece meal, chicken tenders, etc. Or were you expecting them to have things beyond chicken like salads, pasta, etc.

I complained about the price to value ratio not so much the price in and of itself. I'm not exactly a thrifty diner, and in the past week dined at Guy Savoy, Robuchon and the Ritz in Paris.

My main issue is that Bojangles is better, even though they likely use shittier quality chicken as a starting point and the 2 times I went my wife's chicken was a wet flour mess, and mine was tough and gross like it had been dehydrated.

itt kiljadn gets overly sensitive about a joke

This thread inspired me to try out Chuck's for lunch. I got the Spirit Animal (without cream cheese) and while it was good, I wasn't blown away by the toppings. The patty itself was perfect though. I enjoyed the fries, but I'd have preferred an option where you could just get a half serving.

Also got the Dark Chocolate Cake milkshake which was really good.

All in all, it was a little pricier than I would've liked, but compared to Raleigh Times, the burger is a lot better.

hahaha this has gotten really laughable

I have no problem with the place

No one got "cunty"

whether or not Nick is trolling you all really hard is entirely up to how receptive you are to it, though, if I may offer some insight.

There was no mention of going to Ruckus. We were dead set on eating downtown. We went to Times after. If you had the capacity to read and comprehend (hell of a twofer to have, my friend), you'd have already noticed that.

But really really really though, lol at settledown, et al. I'm not in here trying to arbitrarily pin down "your demographic", as it seems your only clear demographic is that of a bitchy adolescent. And, if you want to talk a little more about that, my phone number is listed on a page in this thread.

Quote :
""your demographic" = people that order salmon at Morton's"

just saw this. I've never eaten at Morton's. go suckle your mum's teet before your storytelling gets you slapped in the goddamn face (not threatening you, I'm merely trying to give you a small tidbit by which to live).

I agree with jadn/joel to some extent. But, on the other hand, I don't venture to a new place with a large group of people without expecting some bullshit. I mean, they unwittingly went to a fried chicken restaurant when they didn't all want fried chicken....that sucks for sure, but what are you gonna do?

I definitely agree with jadn's point about gentrification. I don't know if I'm changing, or if the area is changing (or both), but it's already not my bag. Going right when the doors open with all the old couples/young families helps though. And if it has to be crowded, I do prefer some diversity. It's stifling...a whole bunch of white people crammed in one place: Did you read that article in the Indy?!?! Ashley Christensen has outdone herself! It's so delicious and amazing!

I really am better off in the parking lot with a 24 oz. of Ice House.

haha, no, I wasn't expecting anything like Bojangle's...but some sort of variation on the bird, you know. Again, guys, this is silly as all hell. I am intrigued enough to return. It's just going to have to be when I specifically want to try their fried chicken and waffles. We were quite polite, and believe me you, myself, and crew we were with eat at hipster-endorsed establishments QUITE often. We just weren't ready to just pick from 2 items, so we jetted.

Lots of verve about this. It is mind-boggling.

It's hard to find a group of 9 people all volunteering to eat fried chicken at the same time anyways [insert racist joke here]....unless you're an NC State student stopping by Bojangles on the way to the State Fairgrounds before a football game.

I would actually like to see a figure (although its not possible) of the average party size that goes into the restaurant. I would guess it's barely above two.

Big parties would all be like:

- What did you get?

- Chicken. What did you get?

- Chicken. Hey Sarah, what did you get?

- Chicken. What did you get Tom?

- Chicken. Hey Dave? How is your chicken?

- Good. How is your chicken Tom?

- Pretty good. Should have gotten white. How is your dark chicken, Steve?

- Good.

.........

I went with a group of 6 and everyone loved it.

Of course, 7 or 8 may the breaking point when it comes to party size.

Mostly because of the layout of the restaurant. I imagine it'd take forever to get 8 seats together in that place unless you went early in the day.
