i haven't eaten at this place, but i do agree that bojangles' chicken is way way over-rated/hyped.

the chicken pot pie is definitely big enough/filling enough for 2. I'd be impressed if someone took that down by themselves and wasn't stuffed.

Hmmm, I was about to ask if it was any bigger than Busy Bee's pot pie which wasn't enough food on a plate to feed a squirrel. Guess I'll be going back again.

Chuck's is now table service as well, they have a smaller burger option which is cheaper, and fries dropped down to $2.50 with a burger

Holy shit.

These changes are awesome.

I don't need table service at Chuck's, but lowered fry price? That's awesome.

New options at Beasley's look awesome.

Damnit.

A word of warning: the broccoli in the chicken pot pie retains heat better than the rest of the pie.

I've enjoyed all the changes. I stopped by for the smaller burger for lunch this week and that's the perfect size.

I haven't tried to get anything from Beasley's to go, but I heard that you could not get the Chicken and Waffles to go.

Anyone know if this is true, and if so, why?

Ah snap.

(I'll be the only fat guy in the restaurant).

Sorry can we get some more discussion about the pricepoint on this chicken?

My god you are some weird ass fucking people. The places I've eaten at my last couple of jobs have been REALLY pretentious places like Neo China, mellow mushroom, carolina ale house, carolina cafe, tobacco road, some southern place, some thai place, some greek buffet, etc... With the occasional fast food or sandwich place as well..

All of these places run about $10 for lunch. $15 for larger portions or high end things on their menu.

Are we really talking about $7.50 being out of this world? In downtown??? My god.

On the other hand I have to say the restaurants that have sprung up in downtown Raleigh over the last few years have been thoroughly unimpressive to me. I feel like they are all just charging more than I'm willing pay for the "atmosphere" in Raleigh. But a meal for two there with drinks usually runs $100-$200 which is relatively expensive particularly since a few of the meals I've had weren't all that good. Personally, I like to eat food at home that I cook, have a few beers then go out drinking. Late night food is more of a concern. Now $10 for chicken and waffles while hammered sounds awesome.

^It is awesome, and delicious and filling.

I went way overboard tonight. Chicken & Waffles, mac'n'cheese (I shared some, but still, stuff is dense), and chess pie. I miiiiight die. Tried the baked beans from my girlfriend's plate, they were great, especially considering I don't really like baked beans at all. I forked up some of my pie for some banana pudding--man that stuff is the bomb, even though it's not quite pudding... it's more like banana pudding cake (it's baked in a little glass with homemade marshmellow on top), not that I had a problem with that.

I liked that they changed the black tea to just one size with refills, but I guess you have to specifically ask for a refill because it seems like they won't otherwise (or that was the case with me).

I was definitely happy, though the girlfriend's mother thought the cornmeal pastry on-top of the potpie was a "little gritty".

tommy wiseau are you going to the industry potluck at Poole's on the 15th?

Since when is Neo China pretentious and $10 at lunch

We decide to split everything up. Got chicken and waffles, chicken pot pie, mac and cheese, green beans, baked beans, and banana pudding. I was very appreciative that the green beans weren't cooked to hell and back. The banana pudding was the best thing ever I didn't think banana pudding could be that good. Just wish it had been warm and then it would have been pure awesome. I wish the chicken and waffles had come with syrup
