Who is smart? The person operating with the best information they have available or the person with the correct information and superior wisdom who resorts to namecalling and refuses to share their insight with others an effective way?

It's 8:45 pm in California, and I'm under lockdown because morons like you don't listen to logic/science and blame everyone else for their problems. Seriously, you both can go fuck off and sit and think about how stupid you've been the past 3+ years about everything.

I'm not angry at the world. I'm just angry at idiots like you because you will NEVER listen, and you will NEVER learn. You guys remind me of my very worst type of student: ones who don't realize how ignorant they are, sitting around doing NOTHING and complaining that they're failing when they never show up for class/study/participate/do homework/or turn in drafts for essays. I didn't fail you, YOU FAILED YOURSELF.

It's alright though. Morons like you keep me gainfully employed, so keep it up. You're paying my salary.

I knew it was over long ago. I think I was the first person on here who said Bernie couldn't win? and what does that have to do with your statement on climate change "Bernie didn't do anything to help"?

My reply was to the comment about everything being shitty and getting better. That's not happening any time soon. Climate change, while salient to conversations about how fucked proper we are, is gonna just have to wait a bit, OK?

Blaming Warren in any capacity is inaccurate and ineffective. That sort of blame only goes to show lacking introspective needed to objectively evaluate one's mistakes, so that one can move forward and be better later. This is the problem with much of the Bernie campaign. It was true in 2016, and is part of why failures carried over.

So far in my discussions with the Bernie camp, their only internal criticism is that Bernie wasn't combative enough. This is ridiculous. There are several obvious issues, outside of just policy, that the majority of left leaning individuals identify as reasons why they didn't vote for Bernie. Yet, many in the Bernie camp feel adamant that the near universal opinion held by a majority is somehow an inaccurate representation. That seems more like ignorance than intelligence to me.

Of course he wasn't perfect nor was his campaign. Everyone admits that but nothing could be done by him to change the way the media smeared him and spread lies. People don't know his history or platform and believe things about him that are contrary. People widely thought he was going to take away their healthcare and raise their taxes. Warren constantly added to that. People think Joe Biden is the civil rights candidate.

Those are things that more progressive allies, had they existed, could have helped quell by vouching for Bernie from the outside. AOC, Omar, Tlaib, Khanna, and Deblasio were simply not enough.

AOC's beef was that he accepted the Rogan endorsement. Fair criticism but if he didn't accept it, he would have been unwelcoming to someone who was broadening his base. Lose-lose.

[Edited on March 18, 2020 at 9:53 AM. Reason : people are just dumb and warren took advantage of that]

I don't blame Warren solely for the loss. Obviously there are things Bernie could have done better. But I do think the moderates coalescing and the progressives not coalescing most likely cost us the victory. And I think it's important to note the role she decided to take in this primary.

Yes, there are a million reasons why people chose not to vote for Bernie, from "he's sexist" to "he's not an ally to Jews" to "he can't win". What are your reasons?

Glad you are catching on. The fact he hasn't suspended his campaign, causing millions of voters to risk their health so they could stand in a line and vote, is criminal.

The correct thing to do would have been to delay the election. Once again, you are being a disingenuous hack that no one should take seriously.

This is criminal:

Outside of policy, I'd say it is:

1) He vilifies groups of people in order to generate an emotional support to propel his movement forward, much like Trump. Yes, his messaging is less vile and not attacking historically disenfranchised groups of people, but, nonetheless, he is intentionally painting a picture that one group of people is largely responsible for the failures/unsatisfying parts of other's lives, which is not true.

2) I dislike the general nature of his supporters, as compared those those from other candidates. Bernie supporters have consistently been the most angry, mean, divisive, derisive, and often inaccurate supporters of any other group I've encountered. Part of this makes me dislike them and thus the candidate they support as a proxy. Part of it makes me steer clear of Bernie because I don't want to be associated with anything like that.

it’d be very refreshing if supporters of Bernie would just own up to the fact that there is a decent sized coalition of assholes within the movement

some of my best asshole friends are very loud supporters of his. sure, it’s anecdotal, but I know plenty of people who are in the same boat

anyways, this is a pretty important quote from that Salon (which I thought Patton Oswalt killed years ago) piece:

Quote :
" I still would like to dig deeper into this. This analysis looks at all tweets. I would like to look just at twitter interactions between candidate's supporters, look at tweets responding or mentioning media professionals."

Even if it were true - Bernie's coalition is broadly composed of poor, working class people who have a right to be angry. Expecting all of them to police their tone is a super privileged attitude to have. People are fed up.

No difference at all between anger directed at oppressive, racist, systems of power and defenders of those systems vs anger directed at...minorities and the underprivileged?

And btw that anecdote about Trump supporters isn't even true.

^3 even 538 supports the narrative that Bernie Bros are more likely to be close minded.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-are-women-less-likely-than-men-to-support-sanders/

If the overwhelmingly accepted point of view from other campaigns and individuals alike is that Bernie supporters, especially those within the younger male demographic, are more caustic and vitriolic, then how can it not be true? Do you believe that it is more likely people arrived at this conclusion by brainwashing than by interaction with the coalition?

Anecdotally, the vocal Bernie Bros and Trumpers I'm seeing in my FB have been either:

1. downplaying the severity of the outbreak, saying it was/is the media's fault, etc
2. spreading pseudoscience and conspiracy theories (more Trumpers on this one tho)
3. deliberately going out despite warnings, or complaining about how annoying social distancing is

Everyone else? I'm actually digging the funny memes and it's nice to see so many people being really kind to each other, or suggesting how to make the best of it.

^^ The 538 comment is based on his assertion that a 538 article provided definitive evidence about a situation.
