yeah it sucks. Good thing they're only selling overweight and "questionably" styled cars otherwise I might want one!

The new M5 beats the piss out of the v10. Until it goes limp I guess.

both 128i and current M3 are the outgoing models in last year of production. new M3 is force fed as is new 1 series.

i dont have a problem with turbo engine offerings, but they should have left at least few "bread and butter" I6s/V8s for people who enjoy linear throttle response and reliability of N/A engine.

I think that's the place in Greensboro that's had about 5 different names, because they're such a fucked up business that they have to change names every time the word gets out on who they are. Seriously, I wouldn't take a car from them unless they gave it to me. They deal very largely in polished turds (and sometimes just turds). I wouldn't even buy a BMW from a private seller in Greensboro for fear that it was a lemon bought from these dipshits he was trying to unload. They're THAT bad; stay away. Don't even think about it.

There used to be some very damning threads about Eurobahn/Es Motorsports on NCEuro and Bimmerforums. I think they were removed after repeated threats of lawsuits (what forum admin wants to actually fight a lawsuit over a thread?) Mostly people had complaints similar to ncsuallday about promises that were never fulfilled or cars having major issues that were not disclosed. Lots of people flew in from other states with plans to drive the car back only to find it to be nowhere near the advertised condition. In any case, I wouldn't deal with them.

Oh yeah, and they have that one set of 19"s that they put on almost all the 3-Series cars for pics and then when you show up the car is sitting on stock rims.

^^great engine mated to wrong car. it is ugly and 4k heavy. it should have been a variation and updated S62 engine...seductive and torquey. other than that great vehicle.

^indeed. 11/17 of premium is like daily driving old muscle car. i think it is the 2nd worst fuel economy rating after lambos and ferraris.

I'm starting to think the exhaust tone in this thing is manufactured and not coming from the engine.

It's the anti e46. The tone is pleasing in the lower band, but when you the pedal is on the floor and revs hit mid range climbing to redline is where the exhaust get orgasmic.

You hear that, Ahmet? The exhaust sounds way better in the upper reaches...

new M5 has exhaust sound simulated through speakers. i want to see a meeting where they all agreed what a brilliantly idiotic idea that was...

new car is HUGE. we need E39 with naturally aspirated 6.0L making 500hp with same powerband as S62.

Are they doing all this bullshit to make the transition to electric cars (with 100% fake exhaust sounds) seamless?

Listen to the natural sound here

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/04/24/listen-to-bmws-new-m5-with-its-active-sound-system-enabled-vs/

I listened to it a couple of weeks ago, and from what I remember, I couldn't hear a difference.

Btw, is the sound partially manufactured, or is the actual engine sound fed through the car's stereo system. Cuz there is a difference between the two. In one case, there is some actual artificial sound added, in the other case, the actual sound is amplified(?) to make it more audible.

2013 135is just launched, available for $44,195. Since it has 320 hp, it can't be that far from the 1 M (335 hp) in performance, right?

Reminds me of that Dodge radio commercial where they tell you to put your windows up and turn the sound up. Then blast the sound of a V8 Challenger or Charger cant remember. Either way I noticed I was going 15mph over after it ha

I haven't touched that car since the 911's been together, that tells you how I feel. The e90 M3 is rather awesome, particularly in your color combo so well done.

I'd love to have one, in the mean time I have one M too many.

Seemed like the 1M coupe had a vastly modified suspension that the 135is doesn't (the body work alone leads me towards this conclusion).

It used mostly e9x M3 suspension parts.

And fake exhaust is fucking stupid.

yeah i hate the 350z sound because to me it sounds like there is a speaker playing the engine noise from the mid 90s f1 arcade game under the bumper.

And think of this this way... all of the wattage coming through those speaker is coming off the engine via the alternator.

So to sound like it has muscle it really takes all of it away...

It might as well be that R8 E-tron.

I'm no BMW nerd, but I've always thought that the suspension was at the heart of what makes an M an M (versus the sportier non-M offerings).

not to discount ///M-division suspension and chassis treatment, but the engine is at least equally set apart. I can't think offhand of any ///M cars that haven't had their own ///M-division specific powerplants, up until the advent of the 1M.

^what about the X6 M and X5 M?

Also, does the 135is use the N54 twin turbo mill or the N55 single turbo? I'm pretty sure the 1M (and 335is) use the N54 twin turbo set up.

saw today that the single turbo kit for the 335 ran a 11.0007 1/4 this week. that is with a 6mt not an auto. i find that to be pretty impressive. i think the last dyno was 644 whp. all this on totally stock internals, only additions are bigger ic, single turbo, meth, and cai. total cost for that should end up under 8k. impressive to say the least. i have spoken to them about my car and they said 30 days the kit should come out so it does not have to be done on the left coast at their shop. i think a stock looking 6 door 3 car that can run 10's would be a lot of fun.
