I always thought the STATE on the football uni's was too small. The design of the overall uniform was nice and clean, but when you put a tiny STATE on a 300lb OL, it looks a little dumb.

It was however a move in the right direction, best ones we've had since the nike ones with P.Riv

Also, they got rid of the 3 dogs on a hill logo the old ones had, which was

fuck adidas

I had hoped for Nike so badly. I just don't like adidas' designs - disproportionate font sizes, random placement of their logo, etc. I mean I guess it's better than under armor but we should have gone Nike and that probably would have helped with recruiting too.

It's fitting that all the nike dick lickers show up on page 23.

Why would I be mad?

I find it hilarious that people love nike so much that they cry about it when another company makes state a better deal.

I guess we won't get those awesome grey jerseys now.

Random fact: The designer for the LeBron shoe line for Nike is a State guy. He was in Textile Design and Industrial Design while he was here.

Random fact: I really loved our basketball and football uniforms last year. They finally got them both right.

Random fact 2: Now that we're going Adidas in every single sport, hopefully we will get some love from them like Louisville, Baylor, and Cincy.

Debbie gets some credibility for getting out there to sell tickets herself when she saw that people were still waiting in the general admission line to get in at the baseball game on Saturday when game time was getting close.

".....Gymnastics coach Mark Stevenson said that level of accountability hasn’t been the norm for Olympic [Yow's term for "non-revenue"] sports at N.C. State.

“I’ve never been in a position where anybody said I was going to win,” Stevenson said. “Usually, it was, ‘We don’t expect you to win, because we’re not supporting you enough.’”

Stevenson became a head coach at N.C. State in 1980 – he shared a hiring party with Jim Valvano – and has seen administrations come and go.

“Nobody has stood in front of me like Debbie did and said, ‘I’m going to support you and you’re going to be a top 10 team, or you will find a different job,’?” Stevenson said. He added that Yow might not have used those exact words, but he got the message.

“There’s that little bit of extra pressure, and I’m OK with that.”...."

"NC State starting Athletics Hall of Fame

By Erin Summers
Posted at 2:03 p.m.

NC State will honor its first Althetics Hall of Fame Class October 5, athletics director of media relations Annabelle Myers announced Tuesday.

The inaugural Hall of Fame class will be selected over the summer and will highlight the university’s greatest student-athletes, coaches and special contributors.

“Those who appreciate the achievements of NC State athletics will finally have the opportunity to appropriately recognize the individuals who have represented us so well,” said NC State director of athletics Deborah A. Yow. “We anticipate a sold-out event at historic Reynolds Coliseum in October.”

The class will be enshrined during a celebration at Reynolds Coliseum on Oct. 5, the night before NC State’s home game against Florida State. The inductees will also be recognized at halftime of the football game on Oct. 6.

A maximum of six individuals will be elected, except in the first three induction classes where up to 10 members can be elected. The election of a team will count as one inductee.

Former student-athletes cannot be considered until five years has passed since they played at NC State. Special inductees will be considered who have made special contributions to the Wolfpack athletics association, coaches, staff members, distinguished alumni or friends.

Fans can submit nominations for Hall of Fame candidates for the 14-person Hall of Fame Election Committee to consider. The 14-person committee is headed by executive associate athletics director Chris Kingston and includes four permanent members, 10 at-large members each serving two-year terms and one ex-officio non-voting member.

It includes, faculty athletics representative Sam Pardue, Wolfpack Club president Randy Ramsey, head of althletics media relations Annabelle Myers, at-large members David Horning, Tim Peeler, H. Frank Grainger, David Parker, Bob Kennel, Chris Corchiani, Kevin Howell, Laurie Henes, Teri Whyte Scott and ex-officio Michael Lipitz.

The deadline for nominations for the 2012 inaugural class is June 15."
